I agree with TBN, i was playing the game that TBN tell y about. I ask My Wifes Mule and Bullredfish to go in and play with us. They were spectators for several round.

I suffer from paranoia, I have had troubles with vietnam syndrom (seeing enemies that are not there)
But always thinking that spectators are spies... I don't think that most of them even have acces to a TS or Vent channel so its quite useless to spy-spectate. (how else can you get the info quickly over?)

Well I agree on kicking long time spectators in full servers, if thats not the case: the more people in the server, the higher the chance that MORE will drop in.
If we would get a auto-kick on spectators than there might even be server start-up problems.

I only like to kick specs that are idle more then 15-30 minutes and only on full servers.

Pretty sure there's a setting for it, the problem is that it kicks the player regardless of whether they are actively looking around in spec or just sitting AFK in spec.

keep in mind feezy...there are more vent servers other then ours to use.

this is pretty stupid im not in ur clan butt i know that it doesnt matter if they spec. its not ur bussnis what they doin because nobody is allowed to spec in matches. the can spy all they want who gives a crap. if they wANT to spy let them just dont stupe to there level. like i said its a public server and they can do whaat they want. just remember that nobody should go spec in matches or they should be kicked no matter what

Scrap is correct there is a built in option for it.
It's currently set at 15 minutes.
It's set this high so MOB people wouldn't get kicked if they left the game for a little bit.

It's definately not something to entirely overlook,... and folks can do what they want on the public servers only within reason and abiding by the clan rules and any admin's judgement-it's not a' free-for-all' place.
No, it might not matter why someone goes into spec -for a brief time. But some of us might care- ie, those wanting to feel comfortable they aren't losing in a game due to potential 'spying' then people do give a 'crap' and then it does become an admin's business to act accordingly, and IF players knew someone was spying in spec, nearly everyone would definately care>> on both sides too...
I myself might go into spec mode to switch teams while awaiting auto-balance -this could take from 30 secs to 5 minutes. Others may go into spec mode for a brief time-out for various legit reasons then go afk for a bit, and sometimes then completely forget about disconnecting.

Agree, i am not against spec for short time, but if someone are in the spec mod for 45 min i am against it.

If y have find a nice plase to hit the opponen team from, y will as well be angry if someone "spy" and use another program (phone etc) to inform some about our position. Then the position is no more useful.

Y are not the problem when y leave for 5 - 10 minute, but i y use 40 min y will be a problem. What about the people who will play when server is full

Its a "problem" you cant stop anyway. Unless you completely disallow spectating. Which I highly disaprove.
And that you see every spectator with a phone on his ear, talking to his mates that are playing. is still absurd.
I "believe" that most players don't know eachother. You are clanmembers to eachother so it seems logical that you talk to eachother. And should we disallow that than? Maybe... That it's not allowed to use any background software anymore, including messengers, chatprograms and voice-comunicationers.
If you got a hunch that people are watching you. Go outside and know that they are all watching you. Walk around and watch at everyone that might look at you.

Just auto-kick all non MOB/Regs guys after 15 minutes of spectating, and the problem is solved.
