Is there any way to cheat aside from using a map exploit? Basically, is there really any such things as aimbots or accuracy enhancers or things along those lines? I've always accepted the belief that punkbuster would eliminate that stuff, but is it esentially foolproof? Has there been any know instances of people successfully "programming around" punkbuster?

I ask tonite because I got accused of cheating by MY own teammate, who said he wouldn't play MOB servers because they allowed MOB cheaters, and left! I felt kind of bad. At first I just laughed at him, but other n00bs might read that and wonder. Is it an acceptable argument to simply say the game is punkbusted, there are no known cheats that can beat it?

I have to admit, I always liked being called a cheat because I felt it reflected how good I was, but it is less cool now that I have the "MOB-R" tags on. However, this dude, I still have no idea what his problem was. He said I wasn't even aiming at the guy I hit, and in reality I had to shoot at the guy for 2 seconds from 150 feet away with the jeep gun to kill him, and yes, I was aiming right at him!

Anyway, just wondering about cheats. Are they real, or is it just whining?

I was there but did not pay attention when they were talking to you because I was really into the game. But after you left, there was a guy that came in and said he was called in by a clan mate to come and see the cheater? I asked him who and they said you. I told him I dont think you cheated, but they insisted you did. They said they have a video of it and asked for the MOB site info to post it. Lets see what these idiots consider as cheating.

I get it allot also about cheating. I even get it from my own clan! They thing when we play Cassino that I cheat?? I occasionally get that from SaMoAn also, lol.

From what I know, if you have PB, that is supposed to be good for catching cheaters, but im not an expert on that.

Yes there are aimbots that people use. Yes punkbuster blocks some of them but in reality PunkBuster sucks. People have so many ways to get around PB.

Though, what "video" could he be referring too? How the heck do you record video anyway?

Anyway, I'll explain the "situation" in advance and we'll see what this video is about. I was on a jeep, and saw a guy cresting hill at R2 heading to 3. So I turned around and drove to the path at R2 looking down towards our trenches. He was just over the river on foot by now. I flip up to the jeep gun and blast away. It took 10-20 shots before he went down. Then I see a Russian teammate to my left and honk for him to jump on, but it was this dude who accused me of cheating.

Now, there is NO WAY this guy could have me and my victim in his line of sight at the same time. He's just on the hill by the trees, I'm right in the path beside R2, the victim is down across the river. He'd have to swivel his head back and forth to see what is going on. So let's just hope he posts the "video proof" to see what the hell he thinks he saw. Would he be dumb enough to not realize I might have adjusted my trajectory of my gun by the time he swivels his head to look at my victim? I just don't get these "cheat" accusers based on ONE battle.

Now, when Major Abuse was winning EVERY SINGLE gun-on-gun battle I had with him the other day unless I gunned him down before he returned fire I wondered about aimbots! But I never accused him. Maybe he just had exceptional luck that day. And once I dropped dead and his gun wasn't pointing at me, but I accpet a little lag might have happened that instant. Still, I'd like to know if aimbots are a real issue or not.

Steaming to a repository helps fight this issue as they add cvars and modified stock files to be scanned.You should check them out pbbans.com

People can come up with all they want, but PB is going to catch it soon enough. If people want to take the time to come up with their own origianl program to fool PB they may well be able to do it, for a short time. PB seems to me to be pretty damn effective. Many MOB have been called cheaters in the games we have played. It's a badge of honor, lol. But being called a cheater in UO is almost stupid. Usually we get called cheaters for knowing long range shots where you can not see what you are shooting at. It's called practice and experience. I don't know what you were doing to get called a cheater, but I'm sure the noob just didn't know what he was looking at.

Dude was just being a punk. I got accused of cheating for shooting a guy from a long ways away with the mp44, he was returning fire with a thompson and wasn't hitting anywhere near me. real world ballistics would tell you an smg round is not going as far as a rifle round. oh, and it took 3 rounds to kill him at the distance he was at. Don't pay any attention to that crap. if yout good, know it-they will fear it.

Sorry DDz. I was watching when this happened in Barb the other day. Lipton was making a rare appearance just to whine, as indicated. Harry was camping, as per usual. You snuck up, forgot to crouch when you went to bash, and totally whiffed. Harry got up, you panicked, shoot crazily like a mad man, hitting everything but your target. Then Harry switched on his aimbot and and popped you with a shot right between the eyes while his rifle was actually pointing at your foot! I got this all recorded. I'll post it soon, just like that other guy!
