A custom map with mod weaps/AWE (NO TNT!)
Rotate between the two.

adding the MOD weapons should help, but in spawn if the guy can kill you you should be able to kill them. Spawn killing is great, esp. for BAS were holding them from defending is critical. Funny thing this is, if it dont work you effectively kill of the server, if it does then all the better for yous.

TNT has its good points such as clearing entire buildings... and neighboring ones as well

for how close this is i dont think you should. just my opinion. we might lose some people that play on there. I dont play on cassino much. but when i do i want it to be stock weapons.

If you like, I will pm you the address of the server that we (6pack, cudadad, cudakid, mormon marine, rob, silver, and I) have been playing on. They have very limited spawn protection ( a few seconds).

I'm not sure if the cases that I'm talking about are as much a weak team or a team not working well together. Usually what I see is one team knowing where the spawn is and either camping it so that as the player appears, he is gunned down be several people or they spawn and are immediately sniped. Many times I've seen a team hit with artillery or sometimes even a satchel pack or two... as they are all respawning, they are taken out over and over again. Some call it still, I call it stat padding. I think somewhere deep inside, people think it makes their penis bigger or something. biggrin.gif Usually after an episode like the above, people drop off the server.

Back in the day when I ran my own team, stats became an issue where people were so stuck on getting a bash on someone, they would let their teammates die as they were getting closer for a bash. Kind of lame considering it's suppossed to be TDM. I'm not saying stats should go away, but sometimes it's completely obvious why people do certain things while we're playing and it's easy to spot a stat whore.

Well I now have the files needed to get the mod weapons server (with AWE) running. I ran some tests last night using Base Assault maps like Ponyri and Italy. Tonight, I will be attempting to get the mod to run with the lazur map.

This has been an interesting process. I have managed to learn about the pk3 format, to edit pk3 and understand how to edit and modify server config files. If people don't want any of these mod on the Cassino server, that's fine. My impression was that play on Cassino had dropped. I thought that putting another map with some additional "candy" on it in rotation with Cassino might improve that server.

I agree 100%. It would, in fact i proposed that idea not long ago. But then suddenly, Cassino was booming again. I'm not sure what it was, maybe more {MOB} members playing there or something, but it certainly picked up.

I tried to get into that server with the modern weapons mod.
It DLed everything Ok but whan I tried to enter, got an error of some kind. Tried 3 times to corect & enter but no dice. Then when I tried
to get back into the stock BAS maps server to play there like I had
been doing for the last 2 months, I got errors there too. Took me
about 20 minutes of correcting and deleteing to get back to normal.
I still get lousy music now when in the COD:UO opening screens.
Thank goodness it goes away when I enter a game....

If you don't want to try to play the mod weap[ons server, remove the file w_ZoXo_vX_client.pk3 from your uo directory. If you think that you want to try it again, create a subfolder in your uo directory and move it there. To get rid of Mr. Mojo's music (Jim Morrison for the young) delete or move the file. I had no problems getting the mod to run. I'm not sure if anyone else did or not.
