My advice to you is that next time you think of a song you like, and want to download, find out what album it's on. Then download the album from a torrent site.
Bands you need to hear (in no particular order), IMHO: Sonic Youth, The Clash, Descendants, Minor Threat, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, Rage Against the Machine, Pavement, The Sea and Cake, Devo, David Bowie (Ziggy Stardust), Ramones, The Pogues, The Dead Kennedy's, The Dead Milkmen, Cheap Trick (live at the budokon), ELO (Pieces of Eight, Grand Illusion), Styx (Paradise Theatre), The Doors (all of them, and listen to them in order), Eagles (just the greatest hits), Ministry, The Pixies (anything you can lay your hands on, this is crucial), of course all the classic 60's bands (stones, beatles, who, hendrix, etc...), The Kinks (just greatest hits will do), Willie Nelson, Happy Mondays, Charlatens UK (just Some Friendly), Adam Ant (or Adam & the Ants), CCR, The B-52's, They Might Be Giants (at least Flood), Yeah, Yeah, Yeah's, Beck (definately One Foot In the Grave), Van Halen (only with David Lee Roth), David Lee Roth, Boomtown Rats, The Replacements, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley, The Sugarcubes, Bjork, Blur, The Cars, Joy Division, Lords of Acid, Motley Crue, REM (especially the early stuff, Green and before it), The Police, Run DMC, Simon and Garfunkel, Talking Heads, The Sundays (Reading, Writing and Arithmatic), Queens of the Stone Age, The Beach Boys (an incredibly innovative and influencing band), Buzzcocks, The Cure, De La Soul (Three Feet High and Rising), Jane's Addiction (Nothing's Shocking, Ritual De La Habitual), Weezer, Led Zepplin, New Order Hmmm... I that's all I can think of right now, but that should keep you busy. Should I get into jazz and blues and classical? This post has been edited by Bargod: 12/05/05 4:20am -------------------- |

Damn! I heard of none of those! If your goal is to just fill her up and don't care what songs then do some from Rammstein, Nena, Blink182, lol, don't no how i remember that. Do Nsync even tho its gay, just to fill it up and do Britney Spears,(her name doesn't deserve to be spelled right i guess) Just think of everything, that's what i did...

Britney Spears,(her name doesn't deserve to be spelled right i guess) Just think of everything, that's what i did... That's interesting considering you spelled it correctly. No sense in adding music you would never listen to just because it's there. Just find a band you like (bargod's post has several good suggestions IMO) and get everything you can find by them. -------------------- ![]() {MOB}... Often Imitated, NEVER duplicated |

Plague, all the bands, albums and songs listed are ESSENTIAL!!! These aren't just band names I know. These are things that people should listen to, at least once in their lives.

Actually, P, I'll give you that. Phil had some very influential music in the mid 80's. This leads to Genesis, and de facto to Peter Gabriel, possibly the most famous of the bunch. Also, we need to look at Simon and Garfunkel, and Paul Simon with Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
I'm serious about this shit. Don't get me started. Oh, wait... too late... -------------------- |

Forgot to add: The The, Cranberries (Zombie is a personal favorite); OMD, Morrisey, Warren Zevon (Roland the headless Thompson Gunner, Werewolves of London), Yellow (Oh Yeah), "Time Bomb" (i think thats from Blur, see above); Fleetwood Mac, Thompson Twins, ABC (Millonaire), Starship/Jefferson Airplane, Smiths (How soon is now), Kraftwerk (Electric Cafe), Waitresses, Romeo Void (Never Say Never, Girl in trouble {is a temporary thing}) Bargod and I like most of the same stuff. I am sure he going to pull his hair out for forgeting a few of the above.... Lead -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

I listened to them before bar, it's all the same tho, ever song these days are all alike to me. Me personally don't have a favorite band. If i find a song i like, i just put on MP3 on computer... Some 70's 80's 90's songs and 00's. Britney is spelled right? i thought it was like Brittney or Bratney or something... O well, doesn't matter... lol
