OK, let's say that you are on Vent with several of the MOB crew. Old Man Mike is talking too much on the channel but you don't want to complete mute him (he might occasionly say something you want to hear):
Just right click on Old Man Mike, Miscellaneous/Special Effects/Volume/Add. Now you can highlight Volume and select Properties to set Old Man Mike to half volume (everyone else on the channel will be at full volume) by the way, this setting remains in effect even if Old Man MIke leaves and comes back to the channel. Another good trick is to experiment with teaching Ventrillo how to pronounce your name. Throwing in extra vowels or consonants or even spaces changes how it "reads" the name.
