Is it possible to make the first round last for 45 minutes, and the second 35?
35 minutes without arty leads to a draw to often in my opinion.

Yeah, I'm not diggin the 35mins either. I dont think Ive played a game recently that has been 'won' or 'lost' - always a draw. But, I think most of the MOBs like the 35mins...

I don't know folks....I just don't know. The vets here know Barby can be won by either side in 8 minutes with all things smooth sailing. I still believe 35 minutes is enough and inspires bolder game play in rushing to objectives earlier on in the round. It seems 45 minutes rounds inclines more slower advancing- which is fine with me if results are still accomplished, but... the guys that usually rush in shorter rounds now plant slower it seems- giving more time for the nooblets to plant bases out of order- thus increasing the chances of draws and stalemates.
I propose a mod be introduced whereby nooblets most guilty of flagrant disregard for the preferred base planting sequence be spawned on a modded water well in rusky R3 village to be dropped in it [with a couple of satchel charges] or- on a modded scaffold in the middle of the map as a public incentive for more thoughtful gameplay.

If a team win in 8 minutes, the loosers consists of 80% nooblets while the winners have maybe 20% of the kind. In a more balanced game I still mean that 35 minutes often tend to end in a draw because it is not time to try different tactics against the opponents. Especially in the first round, when only a few guys get arty for some havoc show.

I like the water and scaffold idea, Hellfighter. That sounds great!

I haven't run my resluts through any data analysis machines to see the hard data that flows out the other side, but my general feeling is 35 minute games result in way more ties, and I prefer the 45 minute games to offer more chances for victory or defeat. I've never noticed people "sitting back" just because the game is 10 minutes longer. Those willing to sit back on defence tend to do it all the time IMO. Like I said, never used the statical analyzer to see if that's true, but i get the feeling when I play 35 minutes games I end up saying to myself a lot more "Oh, game over...another tie. Ho hum".

Yeah, I think I'm going to start tracking how often games end in a draw. I'll post my results in a few days.

I think that makes the game to long.....Plus what are we doing with the other server....I like to be able to playa whole game of barb and if its 45 minutes I NEVER am able to play a whole game....And if they blow up the bases right away you are playing DM for 40 minutes til the game is over..... My two cents...

40 mins sounds like a good comprimise... I think the bonus 5mins will make a big difference.

40 is fine, just not 45+, then people wouldn't stay for both rounds. i personally can hardly play a 35 minute one without being somewhat frustrated/bored/wanting something more fun.
