I used to be a skate rat. I quit skating in 1986, LOL! When I started skateboarding they were only speculating that Tony Hawk could possibly be a future great skateboarder. LOL!

same here-skated half pipe won 4 contests but my parents thought it was stupid and there was no money in it-they were smart huh!?

i remember it clearly ,age 16 ,first car,going to skate park,excited my parents dont have to drive me,throw skate in trunk,driving,see a girl i liked walking down street and picked her up,went and got beer and drank at secret woods pipe instead-2 years later when i totald my car the last thing i grabbed out was the skate,hadnt used it since-lol!

I had a 1985 nash nosegrinder... dont know if they even call it that.... I was too little and bulky to skate well... I looked like a bowling ball on a surfboard... still do. 5'8 225.... really good at lifting furnture and knocking things over...

I dont skate, but I have a bunch of friends who do. Actually, my city just built a public skatepark here a year ago, and it's already one of the best skateparks in the state, if not the south (literally, we have pro skaters come here all the time to skate the public park)... anyway, congrats!
