Thinking about getting a widescreen monitor (Viewsonic 22 inch). Anyway, can Call of Duty be played with a widescreen resolution? If not, what happens? Does it only use the middle 2/3rds of your screen, or does it "stretch" the 4:3 picture to fit to 16:10 widescreen, making everything look "fatter" than normal.
Thanks for any help. -------------------- ![]() |

COD2 supports wide screen but COD:UO doesn't.
The good news, there is a work around for it. Although this tells you how to manually set the aspect ratio for Cod, you can apply the same fix for Cod:UO http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum...opic.php?t=1524 The only difference would be to make the changes in the uoconfig_mp.cfg in the /uo directory versus the /main directory This post has been edited by Druid: 10/17/06 9:32am -------------------- Not a word was spoken to contradict or disagree with S@bot when he called me a....

It will always revert to 80. For this reason, I suggest playing multiplayer at a "normal" 4:3 resolution. ". I think this means I could force the game to use the full widescreen, but the result is it just stretches everything if the FOV doesn't change. I'm guess when he says "I suggest playing multiplayer at a "normal" 4:3 resolution." then it leaves black borders at the edges of the screen. Certainly, if widescreen did work, it'd be quite an advantage! Hopefully, we'll all be widescreen in 5 years. It looks pretty sweet. Thanks for the link Druid. -------------------- ![]() |
