Had a blast last night! Gonna take some time to develop strategies to work with the size of the map though. Takes forever to get back into the action after spawning so far away.

Was a great time last night. You're right though Pain it was a HUGE map, took some getting used to. If the flickering tanks can be worked out that would be grand too. Good times though, so many places to go and explore and get lost.

The flickering tank problem happened when the server was packed. People complained of lag and they dropped from the game and the flickering tanks returned to normal. Perhaps the technical gurus can figure it out.

Some of us have been discussing the wisdom of increasing the rounds to 60 minutes each. When the map has a smaller group of 6v6 or less, the rounds seem to always end in a draw and it always seems to come to an end just as the battle is getting really intense. And, with longer rounds, perhaps that will give us enough time to get from one side of the map to the other!

Great fun last night. It was good to see so many MOB on, especially since most of us were lost even in the spawn areas (myself included).

It is a map that begs team cooperation as others have said. Also, no long range 88 shots that I am aware of due to the mountain topography, so you have to drive for a couple minutes in a tank to do any significant damage.

It would seem to me that tank convoys are the way to go, vs jumping in a tank as soon as you spawn. By convoying you can successfully blow a base and replenish any damaged/destroyed tanks by capturing tanks located nearby. A 4-5 tank convoy with a jeep or two should be able to roll the whole map against any unorganized resistance. Thoughts anyone?

Control of the airport and the 88 is also key.

Hey Guys,

I will stop by sometime soon to check it out. But if it is a huge map, im sure I will not like it. I hate running around too much with no action. Sorta like the reason I dont play TF.

The map is huge, but it plays really well with small groups. I find that very interesting. Unlike the Forest, there are many areas with long, long views and firing angles and, of course, the gondolas always make for an interesting trip.

The map offers a very unique mix of being infantry friendly, but some areas heavily favor tanks. There are a couple of spots to take down bases with long range tank fire, but all of the firing positions are themselves quite exposed. An organized defense should be able to hold any base.

German 3 and Allie 1 seem to be the most easily defended bases and are usually the last bases left standing. The allies are in for a ton of trouble if the Germans can trap them at A2 with the other two bases down. There is only one tank at that base and both the tank and the base are very exposed to long range fire from a variety of angles.

And finally, I have yet to see a successful spawn killing spree. The designers did a good job of adding a variety of spawn points and the tunnels in both towns make for quick exits or attacks.

I've really been enjoying my time on that map.

Thanks to {MOB}.:some_help:. for suggesting this one!
