Well, we had our work cut out for us as we wrestled with getting started as some folks on the opposing side didn't show up for the scrim. However we went forward with 10 to 7 matchup and handicapped our long range game by agreeing not to use pak or tank long range fire to even up the odds a little. This caused a great deal of alteration to our original strategy, but everyone adjusted very well and went forward to duke it out up close and personal. We were German to start.
[DP] showed great defensive abilities countering our tank attack on R1 by shutting down our initial attack and stalling our push. As the game progressed, Spectre had to drop out, the [DP] guys gained a couple more players evening the sides. The Dead President's do very well on their feet and use rockets as if they were born with them. They were in our bases repeatedly, but solid defense prevailed and kept them from taking one of our bases. Finally, we were able to take their one, knock down their three and in the final stages of the first round, took their two for a 2-0 score. The enemy never quit coming at us though, and in the second half, players even up, we went to work. Our long range attack kicked in and dropped the tops off their two immediately, shortly therafter their three fell as well, and our attacking forces kept playing tag and dodging their armor attacks, but were finally able to get their three planted and destroyed due to combined on-site cover and deadly balls-on pak fire. [DP] continued to bring solid guerilla style attacks to our one and two bases and even broke through our lines and got behind us a couple of times dropping arty on our three. Again, combined defenses were able to thwart their efforts and as we neard the last third of the match we popped off the top of G1, planted and blew it. Several great attacks ensued at the G2 led by our team, but their defense of the G2 base was impenetrable and even though we were in a couple of times, they easily sent us back to the Russian spawn. Final in that round 2-0 for an overall score of 4-0. Hats off to the [DP] guys for a great scrim! Those guys played a great game and played as professional a game as I have had the pleasure to witness in a long, long time. To the MOB crew tonight, outstanding team play, great ideas coming from each of you. You are all natural leaders and your discipline and respect for one another shines through in your attitude and gameplay. Your skillz are to be envied. Thank you all for a great scrim tonight! One error in the story. We got really close to getting G2 in the end. I got in, dropped arty and planted. Abuse was in area too and dropped arty, and just one guy got in and killed me before Abuse's arty started going off. If I could have just beat that one guy, Abuse's arty would have protected me for another 20 seconds, and I would have smoked the base and had the satchel out...it would have been close! Darn, just didn't get the luck when we needed it!
I had a lot of fun. Sabot is a great Captain, providing good leadership but also open to suggestions! Oh, and btw, the ease of getting the easy bases like G1 was laughable. We decided to pop R2 and plant it and with something like 22 minutes left in the first game. Literally 2 minutes and 30 seconds later (or maybe a little less!) we'd popped, planted, and blown it! everyone! Had fun playing with you folks. We really showed them some Our attack teams were keeping those guys busy, so I even had couple peacefull moments on defence. Usually there was only one or two guys attacking, specially to R2. Most fun I got following 6pack on R2, when she was giving DP guys lesson How to get my ass handed over to me with her PPSH. She went from house to house and Also Sabot was a good captain for our team and what comes to my ratio, well we all helped each other on defence and if enemy soldier is banging your tank almost only with his fists...... well you can guess rest.. Only bad thing was, that game went so long to early morning hours here, that 04.00 AM I started seriously ![]() -------------------- |
