This is a suggestion prompted by numerous comments made during game play in GFM Frontline map.
All comments have been extremely positive for the Frontline map. Several folks has commented that maybe we should replace the Broadsword 24/7 map with the Frontline map. As a player of both Broadsword and Frontline I must say I like them both. If however I had to make a pick between the two I would be hard pressed to choose one over the other, but.. bottom line I would pick the Frontlline map. I have noticed that Broadsword very rarely seems to have anyone playing. If there is anyone there it seems to usually be only a few people. Nothing like Tuchola or Barbarosa as far as attendance. I have "surfed" the different maps and servers and noticed there are other Broadsword maps running in a rotation on other servers. All of the other Broadsword maps that get a lot and I mean a LOT of play all have a different setup. Some have modern weapons.. (which I prefer the WW2 for COD) bottom line, I don't like. However All that I have played seem to have Tripwires and remote satchels enabled on these maps. If you want that server to get a lot of players I would like to make this suggestion: Replace Broadsword with Frontline (NOT GFM MOD gameplay), make the tanks the unlimited ammo as on Tuchola and Barbarosa. Also personally I would like to see the tripwires and satchels enabled. Where you can plant a satchel for remote detonation, where you can sneak up behind an unaware tanker and stick a satchel on his rear and boom... I have heard a few players say they don't like the trips and satchels because it makes it harder to blow a base. I say not true... what it does is require a player not to just rush into a bunker without checking for trips and check for remote satchels laying around. If they do, they can toss a grenade on the trips and blow it, or better yet they can steal the trips and they can difuse a satchel by doing the same thing. I think this would make the Frontline 24/7 server a popular server. At the present the Broadsword seems to be pretty vacant most of the time. The Frontline map is on the GFM mod and not that may folks are aware of it. Broadsword to Frontline is my vote. OMM I along with everyone recognize that you did a tremendous amount of work setting up the GFM, would the switch I suggested require that much work? -------------------- ![]() "Fight Alone... YOU... I also think this is a good idea. Except the trip-wires. I hate them

I don't care where frontline map goes, off the GFM server is a great start. GFM rotation needs to be back already!

I don't care where frontline map goes, off the GFM server is a great start. GFM rotation needs to be back already! I agree some_help.. we need to keep the GFM the way it was prior to Frontline and keep the rotation. A lot of guys really like the TDM, DOM, capture the flag etc. etc. While guys like me like the Bas much better. lol as for hating the tripwires... most of the guys that hate them.. are killed by them. Like I said it only makes a player more cognizant of his surroundings... better known as SA (situational awareness). The trips are easy to defeat and steal. So in affect is the enemy sets trips and remote detonated satchels as their only means of defense.. they will lose. As both trips and remote satchels are easy to defeat. Just don't go bustin butt into a bunker and start to difuse.. lol or you become a victim of us guys that like and know how to utilize the remotes and trips. It just adds another dimension to play. It is really quite satisfying and even funny at times to watch a player rush in to plant or difuse only to be sent to Warriors Heaven because he didn't check for trips or satchels first. Okay guys, bear with me. Tonight I am going to put the GFM server back on the map rotation that it had originally. I'm half-tempted to turn off voting while I'm at it, to stop the kiddos from annoying other players. Lemme know if you want it switched off.
I'll then monkey with the Frontline map here on my own computer, to see what it absolutely requires, server-side. If I can get it up in place of Broadsword tonight, I'll do it. But if I find it needs more tweaking/mods/etc, it might take me longer to make that happen. The other servers that you are seeing with tripwires and remote satchels, I suspect they are running some flavor of the AWE mod. Dunno... so if you can pm me the IP of the server you're looking at, I'll go see what they got. One thing though, to make a server popular, you need to leave it as-is for awhile, don't keep changing it. And the biggest thing of all, you MUST camp the server. As I've said before, I and another guy camped my Modern Weapons Custom Maps server 24x7 for at least 2 months before it really got solid players. -------------------- [img][/img]

Wow guys, looks like OMM beat me to making this all happen for you. Great job Mike!! Thanks.
P.S. I smiled when I saw your note in the gfm's map config file. Yes, true... sad, but true. <sigh> -------------------- [img][/img]
