This looks to be the only WW2 FPS game coming this year.
Too many new FPS games are modern, COD4 included.... JIM -------------------- |

It will probably bomb just like Pacific Assault did. The only things EA needs to do to make a bad ass game is to update the graphics, keep the same maps and maybe add a couple more, and keep the same style run and gun game play as MOH:AA. No tanks, no jeeps, no 88's, no airplanes, helicopters, just straight up run and gun, the way an FPS should be played. If I wanted to drive/fly around and kill people, I'd play Battlefield series. Add some SnD/CTF/HQ/whatever, and you will have an even more bad ass version of MOH:AA. The only maps from COD,UO,COD2 that even come close to being as good as the MOHAA maps are Cassino, Carentan, Toujane, and maybe Matmata.
EDIT: Forgot to mention built-in AC support, the reason (IMO) that MOH:AA failed. This post has been edited by blk96gt: 04/30/07 4:15pm -------------------- Idle hands spend time at the genitals, and we all know how much God hates that.

Aren't those maps pretty big? That was what's nice about the maps I listed, they aren't that big. Despite this every map in the COD series pales in comparison to maps like Stalingrad (best map ever made) and Remagen, and really all the other maps in MOH:AA except for Snowy Park.

i just have never had the tdm/dm mentality i guess , i'm not dissing the game play at all I'm just looking for realism. since i was really young ww2 has always interested me ,the tanks ,uniforms ,everything! although Ive been a gaming addict since space invaders came out the first multi player game i played was bf1942 and for the first time lived realism to its fullest. as with cod , bf moved into modern weapons (which it already had a mod called desert storm) so i had started to play cod i imagine ill play cod4 a bit but I'm sure ill be on with the next realistic ww2 mp hopefully it ll be moh .
vehicles IMO defines ww2 battle , the vehicles changed battle from trench warfare to blitzkrieg . the realism just isn't there for me with out them. -------------------- ![]() |

Yep, vehicles are a part of warfare whether you are talking about WWII or today. Infantry is still the backbone of ground forces, but they are supported Heavily by rolling and tracked vehicle stock, not to mention air support.
Perhaps a civil civil war era (circa 1861-1865 American History) game would be more appropriate to those who despise vehicles. Wagons and horses, towed cannon, a few ships for the blockade of southern states, but you could overlook those mostly. LOL! |

If I wanted realism I'd wouldn't be playing a game. I'm not saying vehicles are a bad thing, or that they aren't useful in real life, but not having vehicles is what made MOH:AA what it was. Heck, the game itself wasn't very realistic at all, and I think that's why it was so popular. Airborne could bring the Medal of Honor series back to something decent, if they get it right. I would bet that most of the clans who were on the OGL ladder for MOH:AA would come back, as the only reason they stopped playing was because of the hacks.

"i just have never had the tdm/dm mentality i guess"
An arcade style of play like TDM/DM doesn't take mentality. Just point & shoot. No rhyme or reason to it, just a run & gun shoot-um-up !! JIM -------------------- |

Haven't read anything about the multiplayer, but I did read this about the singleplayer:
Airborne begins with one of the lesser-known campaigns of World War II. Starting with Operation Husky, the invasion of Sicily, players will strap on the boots of a paratrooper in the legendary 82nd Airborne Division and jump out of a transport plane. As outlined in GameSpot's previous coverage, each mission will begin with a harrowing parachute jump. Other missions in the game included Operation Neptune, the airborne component of D-Day, and Operation Varsity, which saw 30,000 soldiers parachuting into Germany in the single largest military airdrop in history. By Tor Thorsen, Gamespot It looks like there will be alot of surprises in both game types, sp or mp. I'd get it just for the sp, the mp is a bonus imo.
