I have to agree with Shifty on the Hanns-G. I own 4 of them and convinced 2 of my friends to buy them after they saw mine. All from Newegg, btw. Best monitor I've seen to date hands down. Absolutely zero ghosting and I've yet to see one with any dead pixels. They make a 22" also for just under $299 U.S. I have my eye on that one (just have to sneak it past Drewster, lol).

A year ago I bought a Gateway 21' wide screen flat panel. The resolution are 1680/1050 at its highest and i was told from a friend to try to get the lowest ms.This one is a 8 ms.Of course I paid big bucks it was about 499.00 at that time.I probebly paid too much.It pivots left and right, up and down and you can even set it up on end21" high.I love this monitor, man what a diference it makes from a crt screen,my eyes dont burn out of my head or get tired.I bought mine at Bestbuy.Chck it out you might like it and the price may have gone down.Good luck..

Try reducing your refresh rate to 60Hz. Especially on flat panels, some gamers will feel a queasy motion-sickess feeling if they set their refresh rate higher.

Dunno why this would be happening just now, if you've had this monitor for 5 years and have always set the refresh at 75Hz. Maybe you've grown slowly sensitive to it over time?

Also, if you are capping fps, via the maxfps setting, there are recommendations for that (google for them, I've read them all over the place). 60 fps is a good one, or for coduo I think the highest recommended totally smooth one is 125 fps.

Hey UNDEAD, you can go to newegg.com at check out thousands of customer reviews on all the different moniters. I purchased a samsung 24 inch 244t widescreen and must say that it was money well spent. it is a little pricy though. You want one with a high contrast ratio and a low response time. hope this helps. smile.gif

If I'm not mistaken all of the flat panel LCD's run at 60HZ. I don't think they will handle any more than that. I've got a new LCD from dell sitting in the floor here because I like my CRT so much better. And it's at least 3 yrs old or more. Don't think I'd play on another LCD if you gave it to me.

Well ,my flat screen is really old and yes it does run at 50 to 75 hertz ,it is old and it is time to get a new one.did my shopping on newweg this morning and got myself a 22 inch monitor ,thanks to all.

commenting on steels post-i think this was my problem even though my monitor is screwed .after reading your post i went in to check my mp_config file and found that it was all back to default settings which is probably the cause of my problems. i did make the changes unlocking the frame rate and hunkmegs and atleast im moving alot better. hopefully when i play tonight i wont be sick ,lol.

Maan, I spent whole saturday driving back and forth to BestBuy exchanging my 27" WESTINGHOUSE LCD TV that had a defect. Nobody makes 27" anymore. Tryed 26' SHARP with DVD built in, 32" Toshiba. They apparently suck the same way. Resolution! Even though manual says they the same. And not all of them support widescreen as monitor for your comp. Like this Toshiba Regza - full screen ONLY if using with your PC. Even though the monitor cable looks the same it's called something else, not VGA.

Don't trust what manual says (they wan't let You read it in the store) and never believe what they tell You when You are looking for an advise. They are just making a sale. Take whatever You like home and try.

After comparing quiet couple of them I found that 32" WESTINGHOUSE they dont even put on the stand (salesman said "oh, that thing is pretty new". I saw it year ago... online. Think why?). It's cheaper and better! Same features as my old 27" inch. And same price (!!!) $799.00. Very nice picture. I can see big AWOL Landser's head hiding in german farm Fort from russian side trench on Tuchola Forest map. biggrin.gif One strange thing though. Sound is great, but where it comes from? I have to spin around a lot to determine direction of the threat. Home theater helps to normalize this problem. biggrin.gif Neighbours are pretty mad if I stay playing after midnight. You can make PPSH sound like ELEFANT. biggrin.gif I love that thing!

Other thumb up to BestBuy - they will take anything back NO QUESTIONS ASKED 7 days after purchase. So You can always exchange or refund. Good idea was to buy 4 year extended service plan with that TV. Line on the screen showed up 1 year and 3 days after purchase. And I didn't have to pay a penny.

Good luck there Dude! cool.gif
