Clciking the "now" button, you see that supposedly for every three births there is one abortion. I don't think that can be right.

In the USA, where the recording of these statistics are fairly reliable, 23.9% of all unborn baby's in the US are aborted. http://www.johnstonsarchive.net/policy/abo.../wrjp333pd.html

Makes one wonder if we killing are off the next scientist's that could have cured Cancer.

I don't want to start an abortion debate, but I must admit those numbers are shockingly high. I think if I would have guessed, I would have put the number at 5% tops...or maybe 2%.

not to sound like an ahole but jack has a point.i watched it at first per year and when i switched to day -wow! you almost have to think that theres some sort of balance and its slightly off a bit ,our population is growing too fast and our resources are in trouble.

heres a question for you, how many people do you know that are hiv positive? i know 5 and the amount of drugs they are prescribed has kept them around for the last 10 years with out full blown aids taking over. im sure the drug companies are doing quite well with out a cure .its not the case in africa and other poor countries and the death toll there is staggering.

i always thought about ww2 as well .at a time when the worlds population was growing ,here comes a war that takes millions of lives but then the baby boom. im no scientist (obviously with my spelling) but it does seem our population and problems are spinning out of control. i just want to know WHO designed the program, found it interesting.

Interesting, although morbid, comments Jack and Undead. So in your opinion: What is the maximum number of people the earth can support?

No-one can really even guess what the maximum number of people the globe can support.

However, if we consider the population to be about 5.8Billion, we could move everyone into Texas with a modest size home and have a density of 52,000 people per square mile. This is the population density of Paris, France.
Sure seems the rest of the entire planet could produce way more than enough resources to support a Texas sized city.

Conservation International's own study revealed that 46% of the earth's surface was an untouched wilderness. That is land areas, not including sea.

Poor living conditions and starvation has nothing to do with the worlds population, it has EVERYTHING to do with how effective the local government is. If the US had the same government that Peru, N. Korea, India, China, Cuba, your choice here, we would have the same problem.

Please consider these points before you start advocating the killing of un-born children, the elderly, the poor, the ugly, your mother-in-law, all in the name of "over-population".
