I finally got my headset/mic, but vent freezes up... Options

So I have the version of vent that MOB uses, and I have my headset/mic, but the program freezes up when I try to use it. Sometimes I can see everyone who's on, sometimes it doesn't even load enough for that. I've tried both here and on TLD (no offense, lol) and I was able to connect with TLD briefly. They could see I was there, but couldn't hear me. When I went to setup it froze up again.
Any ideas? Any at all?

Also, after you first run the program, before you even try and connect can you get into the setup screen or does it still freeze? If you can get in, check your input and output settings. What are they set on?

it took 45 mins for me but ice helped my ass out perfectly

Well, one of the few times I could connect, Soupy helped out. So, now I can talk with everyone. As for the freezing up, it happens about 90% of the time, no matter what button I push, even setup.
I just ran adawar and spybot again. Maybe that will help.

I used vent with no problems all last nite. Today it freezes up again. I went to the vent forums and didn't get much help. Lot's of people seem to have vent freeze up, especialy ME users (like me). I tried the different things said to help, and none did. WTF! This is pissing me off!

Oddly enough, vent won't freeze up if I first connect from TLD. If I go to their web page and go to their vent status page, they have a connect to vent link. If I first connect there (well, on two occasions) I can then disconnect and connect to MOB fine. Very odd.
btw futureman, it freezes if I hit connect or setup. I never get a chance to do anything else.

Well, this doesn't happen everytime. Tonite, it took me about a half hour of trying to get on using both TLD and MOB, although, oddly enough, it again let me on after connecting through TLD first. Why the hell would this be? Is it just coincidence? It really could be. I tried tld many times, just like mob, before it worked. Is it just coincidence that it connected thru there first?
