GUYS THIS GAME IS SCARY AS HELL! I have had zero problems with it and have been playing about an hour. IT IS SCARY ASS HELL I TELL YA! I highly recommend this game BUT it seems like it lags a bit...any clue y...i would really like it to run smooth as possible.

its lagging because its so graphic-intense. Lower the ingame video settings. You need the newest top of the line GPU, and lots of Ram, and a fast processor to experience the game with the best graphics.

Like how fast is your cpu (e.g. 3.0 ghz), how much ram (e.g. 256mb), what vid card do you have (e.g. GeForce 3 ti 200)

 I read in the paper today it runs on at least a pentium 4. I run a pentium 3 with geForce 3 gts and more mem than I need, but it's not enough for the new doom. Plus, it's got an Ultra feature that requires a graphics card that doesn't exist yet.Gee, thanks id! Assholes! I'm not buying a new pentium and graphics card just for this friggan game! I read that it adjusts itself based on the computer. I have a AMD 1800+, 512 MB, and GeForce 3 Ti 200 (GeForce 4 Ti 4200 died), and there is no way I would even try to run it.
While it does require a high end GPU (graphics card) to run smoothly with pretty pictures, the sound is shunted to the CPU. This means a high end sound card is not needed, but a good (P4 2.5 GHz or higher or AMD 2000+) CPU is mandatory. HardOCP has some good guidelines as does the newest PC Gamer. --------------------  |

well...NOW IT FUCKIN WORKS GREAT ON MY COMP!
the net is way to laggy ... they need to work on it... but other than that it works great in single player other than when there is like 20 guys shooting fire up your ass -------------------- |

I've got at athlon 3200+ barton core, radeon 9800 pro and one gig of pc3200, game runs fine for me at 1024X768.

I got a 1.8GHZ Pentium 4, 512 megs ram, 64mg GeForce 3 ti 200. The game runs pretty well right out of the box at 640x480 with all effects on but has a little bit of lag. I'm surprised it ran this good, thought it was goin to lag all of the time.
