Any chance you changed your drivers recently?
If so try rolling them back.

If it worked okay one day and not the next you have something else going on.
There is always a chance you are getting bogged down by hidden spyware or ad ware.
If it is a spy/ad ware problem, here is the best program I've found to deal with it.

Very Important
HijackThis examines certain key areas of the Registry and Hard Drive and lists their contents. These are areas which are used by both legitimate programmers and hijackers. It's up to you to decide what should be removed. Some items are perfectly fine. You should not remove them. Never remove everything. Doing that could leave you with missing items needed to run legitimate programs and add-ins

The point I want to make sure you understand is NOT to pick any items and tell the program to clean them unless you are 100% sure.
All I want you to do is run the program and choose
"Do a system scan and save a logfile"
Then email me back the logfile.
You can either attach the logfile or copy and paste it into the email.

After I get the logfile I'll be able to tell what keys and files are being hijacked by any adware running on your computer.
I'll then have you do another system scan and tell you what keys and files to checkmark to clean up your system .

You can download the file here
HijackThis.zip

You'll need to extract it
You can unzip it anywhere you want
i.e. c:\temp
Then browse to the directory you unzipped it to and run the program.
Just Remember DO NOT PICK ANYTHING TO CLEAN
Pick the option to scan and save a logfile

Safer is to go to Webroot.com and download their 30 day for free program called Spysweeper. Then get the updates before you run it. This will find some shit Adaware and Spybot miss.

Also Microsoft bought out Giant Software who made one of the best Spyware programs out there. It can be downloaded from Download.com or their website.

Do you close all your programs runninng in the back ground? They are all the time connecting, looking for updates and shit. I use a program called ENDITALL. It shutsdown everything that is allowable.

To bad really now that microsoft owns it, the next release will be 50meg bigger and the program will only find half of what it did when Giant made it.
Of course on the plus side it will now have a pretty interface. LOL

Could be a driver problem, maybe you DirectX drivers got corrupted.
I would reinstall DirectX9 from the link PISTOFFBAD posted.
After you install and reboot, be sure to go to your mohaa directory and run configure.exe to insure mohaa is using the right drivers.

After running configure.exe you will need to load mohaa and set your graphic options back to how you want them as configure.exe will set them back to the defaults.
