Hey fellas,
This war is winable, let the boys in the field do their job and get the job done. This war is like no other war, but can be won. I've been there, i just got back here in September. The men and women over there are in good spirits and want to finish what they started. I morn for every soldier that dies over there, but i know the job has to be done and we've got the best men and women in the field doing it. -------------------- ![]() |

It's sad and I feel bad for all the soldiers and families that have losses. I wish we didn't have to be there but I'll support our country and military in what we are doing. I wish there were more military presence from other "allied" countries. It also seems that we're footing the bill, kinda sucks when we have our own poor, homeless, gang issues, debt.... list goes on and on.
Sorry for your loss Ice Cold. -------------------- ![]() |

how about making the middle east obsolete ! oil is their only export besides drugs! there has never been and never will be peace in middle east! look at history! i have a few freinds over there in or were in ramadi wich was pretty hot for a while and havent heard from them or gotten an email in a while,so im a little worried .i can say that i %110 back them up ! i personally believe iraq was a major contributor towards terrorists. billions of dollars of oil money!
my opinion ps: when they make an electric car that will get you laid, things will change! -------------------- ![]() |

before this gets tooo political....
I really wish we could use the same tactics to fight as our adversaries. i mean "car bombs" that is animalistic. but that is the problem. we really are not fighting against a country per se', we are fighting an entity, terror. that is like fighting hate. even if we melted the desert with a nuclear bomb (which the president pronounces nucular) there still would be terror. I love and respect the men an women whom are fighting. many are my freinds, and kids of friends. I hope it is over soon. Feel free to hate on my opinion, but it is just that, an opinion. sorry for the double post, but i forgot one thing. thanks sgt thomas. you are more of a man than most of us. |

You can't blame the government for societies problems, the problems start in the home. When people start taking responsibility for their own actions you'll see alot of societies problems go away. The last thing i want is a government that tells me what i have to do, where i have to work, what shows i can watch, what time to get out of bed in the morning, etc. America is one of the greatest nations on earth, and we want other nations to have those same freedoms. We're not in Iraq and Afganistan to take over or to even take their oil , Hell we've been at war for over two years and my gas prices haven't went down at all, we're there to give them the same choices we have. To elect their government and to make their choices just like we have do, and what i do everyday. Everyone in this county chooses how they live and they have the responsibility to make their better if they want to, and that is the key word, "if they want to". Everything starts at home and in the heart. Make your choices yours!!!!! Hey Ice_Cold i'm sorry too!!! -------------------- ![]() |

I agree with you. I think people and their countries need to accept or embrace more social responsibility. These days, everyone assumes someone else will take care of the problem. Parents assume teachers will teach their kids while teachers assume that parents will instill decent manners into their children. It goes like that outside of our country where situations arise, let's say like Iran, and everyone assumes someone else will take care of the problem. We've numbed ourselves to everything and I see that as a reason why most of the world isn't with us when we fight terrorism, etc. Once something huge happens, alot of those countries are going to wonder why it wasn't prevented. I guess alot of people don't believe in being proactive. Look at 9/11, everyone just wants to point fingers of why it wasn't averted. Well, look back at Clinton's 2nd term and the beginning of Bush's. They were both trying to fund more money into programs that would defeat terrorism and upscale homeland security but alot of people, assuming Dems, shot the idea down. Their arguement was, "why spend money on things that aren't broken when we can spend it to let illegal immigrants come into our country easier"... but then they are the ones pointing fingers after the fact. It's just crazy. Again, we need more social and political responsibility and it starts at home.

Note to Druid and Real Deal: I'm back! haha. You're a fool if you think for a moment the war in Iraq or actions elsewhere have nothing to do with oil. The central Asian republics are excellent examples. Elections will do nothing to solve the problems of the middle east, and the american military is not nearly suited to the task at hand- a complete restructuring of Middle Eastern societies more fundamentalist, radical, and anti-American than the rulers we prop up or topple.
