Illegal Immigration, Yeah, I'm going there Options

Thought I'd bring it up. If you guys haven't noticed... I'm all about three things. Photoshop, sports, and debates.

I'm all for diversity in any country, trying not to make this just about the US. But I do think that people migrating from one country to another should adapt to their new country. Not the other way around. When I moved to Canada, I had to learn to play hockey... j/k. Dry humor. Anyway, I don't have any issues with anyone coming into the US from South America if they legalize themselves and pay taxes. As it is now, South America's most inflating economic positive is all the money that is being sent from illegal immigrants that are in the US to their families back home.

These people live in the US while not learning English, not paying taxes, taking jobs from other US citizens, etc. They expect to live here with all the regular citizen rights. They put their kids in public schools, which our tax dollars pay for. Now schools are overcrowded everywhere and schools are having to split classes into two halves so the Spanish speaking students can be taught by Spanish speaking teachers. BS! Then when these kids graduate from school, they are complaining that they can't get scholarships into college beause they aren't legal. WTF?

I love their argument on how we’d be screwed if they left. Someone would need to do the menial work, I love how they say “who’d cut your grass if we were not here?” That seems to be one of the themes all of these protestors seem to go by. They are damning themselves right from the start. Instead of “We want the opportunities to make lots of $ by seizing the opportunities that the US offers by education and hard work!”…we get “who is going to do your menial labor?”

In contrast, look at the Asian community and what they have done here since the late 1800’s. Why the hell should we cut unskilled labor a break? Well that pretty obvious, cheap labor for corporations. That’s why this legislation going through government is a good thing. This country’s job industry is service oriented, and you need skills for many of the jobs that are available. Inviting more unskilled people into the country just makes more have and have nots.

Why should we support non-citizens? Another thing, how about people from Europe or Africa who are going through our naturalization process? It’s a slap in the face to them.

While the news will just show protests and the many people with their signs, let’s not forget these facts: 1) MS13 is a huge issue. Part of that legislation is designed to deal with them, and criminals in general; 2) Drug smuggling is also a big problem, it’s not just “honest people looking for honest work” as our liberal press would like us to believe; and 3) These people who cross the border could be afflicted with anything. I need to get shots to travel so I am not a health risk to anyone where I travel to, what checks are there for some diseased idiot getting Americans sick with some weird disease?

My plan -

Hold one month, let's say September 2006. From this month, anyone who is illegal can be legally naturalized in the US or atleast be given a green card. After that, if you are caught w/out a green card or you're illegal... you are shipped off to prison for 2 years outside of the US. Right now, there's not a good enough punishment when people are caught. They are sent home where they regroup and come back. That's not even a slap on the hand, c'mon people. So with my plan, we're being nice and allowing people to come here to help make this country a better place. After that, we shouldn't have a huge issue with this. Ofcourse people will still break the law, but I'm thinking if the punishment is severe enough, it won't be half as bad as it is now.

Last month 2 british jornolists took a car to france,1 got in the boot(trunk) then came back pretending to be illegals ,to see what they could get,They were given a house,money ,jobs and told to fill out a form to get a car if they can both drive..all this was from tax payers money.the govenment said that they were entitled to have £2000 (about$3500 ) for a Plasma Tv,PS2 or Xbox, dishwasher and other "so called essensals".

Imprisoning illegal immigrants doesn't help anything. There will still be a burden on society. The pusishment needs to be on anyone who hires illegals. This will be incredibly hard on certain industries.
Anyway, we shoulld do what Reagen did in the '80's and give them all amnesty and integrate them into society. Then impose strict pushiments for people hiring illegals.
And pray to God they don't stat the "guest worker" program. It has been nothing but a nightmare in Europe.

What should really happen is, we should pull all our troops out of the middle east, Line em up across the border with mexico and tell em to move out and not stop until they have conquered All of central america, and South America. If they are not legal US citizens (which I bet 2/3 of the protestors weren't) then they should not have the right to protest in our country about their rights. They should have had the INS show up and ship their asses back to Mexico, and tell them they'll get shot the next time they try to come over.

Ridiculous [?] protests is the sign of a healthy [?] democracy...... it makes all those brutal rulers in China, Africa, Arab nations, Talibanland cringe with envy that we don't need thugs with batons or secret police to suppress peaceful expressions of personal opinions. sorry but i have to add my opinion to pez original post and i probably wont get a big response but ....

i lived in california for a year and been in south florida for 12 years .i have seen the spanish population grow dramaticly in the last 4 years.a good friend of mine HAD to marry a family friend for citizenship because it was done for him his mother father and so on.. also they get green cards because this is the third largest gay community -gays marry spanish (lesbian too ) because it doesnt matter to them at all if their married but itll buy them a new [email="car!?@#$"]car!?@#$[/email]

i have to say it bothers me alot that i am an ahole because i do not speak spanish here,lol! and hitting the button for english or spanish def bothers me. i had to put together a toy the other day and there were more directions in spanish than english.needless to say,they can take florida for all i care because i am currently selling all our properties and moving to n.c. but all you northerners get ready becaues its heading your way! soon!

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you regarding immigrants adapting to their new culture.... things like 'night life' parties that are common in their original habitat shouldn't be tolerated in their new neighbourhood - it's going to be up to Law enforcement to snuff out these violations before it gets out of control and the quiet folks flee the neighbourhood - like you wish to... and believe me, no-one gets away with making a noise in my living area- I have zero tolerance for that- so I can relate to you on that. Also my family waited in a line up to immigrate to Canada AND we were rejected the first try! In Canada you have to be in bad shape[with a sponsor or from a wrecked nation] or financially 'abundant' to get in somewhat swiftly. We were in the middle ground and from the UK which = looked over. So I personally know about being skipped over to immigrate.
My issue is the punitive extremeties being raised in the thread, bordering semi seriousness... almost like having no qualms with a turkey shoot on an open border. It all leads to violent scapegoating in my opinion... we see it throughout history and today... Look at Mozambique and euro-descended farmers getting oppressed, and geezus, even literally an African Hitler-loving movement in Liberia against the African Christians there. I'd like to think we're beyond the 'shoot invading illegals' on sight mentality - there are other ways of dealing with the problem.
