Was it the Q3E minimizer? I know that one makes the desktop look funny, but the game looks fine. And your desktop should return to normal after you shut off the minimizer.

Both my desktop and game goes dim when i turn it on and stay dim after i turn it off. My desktop goes back to normal after rebooting. I'll try Q3 minimizer you suggested and see if it works better. Thanks for the idea !

I am going to assume one thing, that you have an ATI graphics card. I have one too. I have the minimizer and it will always make your screen go dim after minimization. You just have to go to OPTIONS>Graphics>Brightness Adjustment. The cursur will be in the last place the brightness was, just click it and slightly drag it away and then back to same spot and it will be fixed. I had a code which is- bring down your console and type /r_overbrightbits (1,0) I think 1 is enable and 0 is disable, anyway that only worked on my ATI 8500 radeon. I use a X800XT pci-e radeon now and it doesn't work. Hope this is some help.

Regards,

Alt+Enter works at the initial screen-like where joing game and options are accesible, but I have screwed up in game and pressed it and it has to reload the entire map for the windowed view, and then if you wish to full screen it again, you have to wait for a reload again. I have hit it on accident numerous times because sprint is the "alt" key and I have a bind to say "Incoming Armor" on my enter key so! you see what happens I see tanks and try and sprint away and then I press enter to call them out to team and then poof, dead! LOL

not a problem buddy, I wish I had a more permanent solution but that seems to be it. I thought about writing ATI for a driver tweak but I figured they'd write it off as the guy who made minimizers fault.
