Yesterday me and DG were at the warehouse and it started raining and hailing (out of nowhere!!!) and lighting and crazy weather and stuff... now mind you it was a really nice day all day.. beautiful actually... so we leave and are headed home so we get on the interstate and the 90 was jammed up (solidly!!!) no movement at all...
I am no maybe 100 feet on the 90 and i see sideways rain and the van (8'7" tall x-wheelchair van... <yup the short bus>) starts rocking... REALLY ROCKING!! and there's the rain like horizontal shit... REALLY FREAKY SHIT! all of a sudden i remembered watching TWC and they were saying that if you see Horizontal rain RUN! ur Close to a tornado! so I start looking.... my next words were HOLLY FUCK! it was maybe 100 feet from me picks up a Tractor trailer and drops the SOB on the median blocking all 6 lanes of the interstate....leaps over the 90 and comes down maybe like 100-120 feet away! I start to freak out.. (I can run into a burning building, but ill be damned if im messing with a twister! (I seen that movie!!) so I figure ill out run the fucker! worrying about the wind flipping my van... I turn to hit the shoulder. the turn made the van more aerodynamic and the van stopped rocking! DG still looking for the twister (hard to see as it just touched back down it was just restarting to pick up dirt and trees... she finally sees the thing and POW! it takes the transformer out! THEN WE BOOGIE!

I get home... all excited!! (aka scared shitless!!!) and i call the girl at work and ask if they are ok... she was on lunch and coming back using Union near William st... in cheektowaga and she seen it in the rear-view mirror and watches it tip a construction trailer behind her she floors it back to the warehouse. it skips over the building and lands on the homes and business across the street...

morale of the story... PAY ATTENTION TO THE WEATHER CHANNEL!!!!

Awesome story!! I know I said it last nite on vent - You guys are Soooo lucky not to have felt it's wrath first hand. Sure glad u 2 are ok. We get them here all the time (MIssouri) and when we lived in Tulsa/Claremore Oklahoma I really dreaded the spring and fall. Yep, tornado alley isn't the place to be.

Strange weather happenings all over the world the last few years, with storms becoming more intense and unpredictable. Discovery channel says this is all part of a natural cycle and it will get crazier before it calms down again. Who knows? That's all New York needs is a tornado season, eh? Keep your heads down!!

Now that you've been through a Twister come down to Florida and play with the hurricanes lol. Good to see you are ok. But there's been bad weather in the US all over lately. Flooding in Texas and the New England states. Makes me love the 95 degree weather in Orlando!

its global warming! the u.s. is the only country in the world NOT taking steps against this.our official response was -it doesnt promote economic growth.as harry said withthe hurricanes is true but theyr getting worse every year. we will start seeing f 5s soon and thats when youll see real damage! do you know brazil is completely gas free? check .

Glad to see you two ok, know you have something to tell the grand kids. And Undead, global warming is a natural cycle. Have you ever been to a foreign country to see their emissions, we are not the worst in the world.

There was an F2 tornado in New Hampshire last month that sounded much like what you experienced. An F2 in New Hampshire! New Hampshire is one of the unlikliest states to have a tornado, let alone an F2.

Two men were driving on I-95 and stopped to watch it. You guessed it. The thing turned, they jumped into their truck, but it was thrown 50-feet, yet somehow, they managed to survive.

Sgt. Thomas, the US produces the most CO2 emissions of any country in the world. You can check the figures here.

The central "debate" about climate change is over. We are not experiencing a "natural cycle," unless you consider man's actions "natural." Global warming isn't responsible for any one heat wave, or severe storm, but it is indeed changing our planet rapidly. Research just completed this spring revealed the Greenland ice cap is melting at an alarming rate as columns of water are now flowing to the very bedrock that lies beneath the ice, accelerating its rapid march to the sea by three times the rate of a decade ago. This new data means we could see our ocean levels rise by 23 feet.

A couple of good articles:

you got thAT right !from what ive read we have only so long before theres no going back.we are taking steps now to not only save money and give the middle finger to oil producing nations but to also assist our enviroment. start reading about running a car on veggie oil (theyr starting to open pumps here now)and solar power. smile.gif

brazil (who is similar in size to the u.s.) is the first country to convert %100 from gas to fuels from sugar cane. they also drive canola cars.

Man is a natural cycle, we were not here from the beginning and we may not be here to see the end. You are right hamma, we do produce the most, and that is because we are the biggest. Kuwait produces alot more from one plant than we do from three, should we shut one down or have Kuwait build three more. We have standards that we have to meet, and other countries should meet certian standards, but you can't stop progress and expect to fix it over night. Find a fix and keep progress, and i'll back anything you want!!

Gas is a good fuel but so many things are better. French Fry oil was tested and burns cleaner, makes your truck perform better and even makes the car behind you stop for some fries at McDonalds, which helps our economoy wink.gif. Soy Beans, do good, Water is an excellent source of fuel. A guy invented a torch that when touches human skin feels warm but touches anything else and instantly melts it, and it runs on water. Soon the Middle East won't be the top dogs of fuel, the Carribean will!
