Been playing occasional non-MOB servers lately, and what is weird is that sometimes, not ALL the time, but sometimes, my settings are different. My name is different (my old pre-MOB tags name), my brightness is higher, my quick binds aren't working, etc. Why would this be? It happened again last night when I joined those "Lord of the Rings" themed servers.
How come I have two settings saved that change depending on the serve?. And NOOO, it is not my "aimbot". So, can anyone one... -------------------- ![]() |

I believe it is because AWE servers use a different config file. Check the uoconfig_mp.cfg file in your awe_uo folder. Most likely your binds are different than the uoconfig_mp.cfg file in your uo folder.

I see there's various mod's in my COD folder, and when they get created it must copy from you current default config, but then its settings are its own. Kinda dumb really! Actually, it is not AWE that is causing the trouble. It is the mod they are adding that gives you a different CODUO opening screen. These horrible opening screen mods will overwrite your games_mp.log with whatever settings that clan designated. I steer clear of these servers like the plague.
If done correctly, any mods on a server will download into a separate folder in your C:\Program Files\Call of Duty folder. The folder will have a name such as aweuo. If you don't want that server's mods anymore, just delete that folder and you should be good to go. So, even if they've put in a horrid opening screen mod, once you delete their folder, then your game should go back to using the games_mp.log file in your C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\uo folder. However, if they are making their mod downloads go straight into your uo folder instead of your Call of Duty folder, then they are going to cause you grief. Even if they don't have a horrid opening screen mod, putting any mods in your uo folder can cause you to get "unpure client detected," and etc, or even get punkbuster kicked when you try to go on other servers. Clans will put their server mods in the uo folder instead of a separate folder in the Call of Duty folder for a couple of reasons. Either they don't know how to do it properly. Or else they're renting a server that won't let them access the Call of Duty folder, only the uo folder. Don't play on servers that don't do mods correctly, they're not worth the trouble they cause. -------------------- [img][/img]
