Havent they done this before? Hughes has something GSP hasnt shown yet.... heart. I like GSP but I'm just not convinced he's proven he will beat Hughes yet. I mean he definetly can win the fight as we've seen lately most anyone can beat anyone else on a given night. I still think Hughes may be the best we've seen at that weight class. What about the Heavy Weight fight? I dont know much about Munson Or Monster or whatever his name is but he looks like a BEAST. Should be fun to watch both matches.....

I just watched the first fight again. While it was apparent that GSP is the superior "athlete" and he held his own for 5 min. He did lose the first round even if Hughes didnt submit him. The only points he scored were from one spinning kick that barely slowed Hughes down. Should be fun to watch for a second go round.

You know. If someone where to find said fight and watch it. You might wonder why Hughes decided he should try to stand up with GSP. One thing I have to wonder about is that we have to remember this is a business. A rubber match is going to sell like crazy now.... I'm just sayin.... Hughes looked awfully bad for someone who has been invincible for the better part of 5 yrs. Could Silvia be a more boring fighter? There's a reason they put him as a co-featured bout I think. Geez he does produce some snoozers.

From what I've seen Hughes has the better ability to spot weakness and exploit it, like last time when he caught GSP in the armbar (I think it was an armbar). It must take split second timing to spot and opening and use it. But Hughes energy seemed low, right up until that moment. Never can tell.

The post fight interview said it all. matt explained how comfortable he's been in the ring the last few fights. He has developed the disease of 'overconfidence' which comes from winning every match for years.

He even said that after GSP rocked him with a punch or 2 early he never felt as if he would loose. He figured he just had to show up and find a way to win.

Notice how Matt stood up and only attempted 2 half hearted takedowns. He clearly had no killer instinct or adreneline running through his veins.

GSP did not face Matt at his best. So a rematch should be fantastic, unless matt has lost his drive. We'll see.

As for GSP, he is an incredible athlete! So quick and had a great game plan and implemented it perfectly.
