The media and this nation are in dire need of a new direction. One cannot turn on the television or read the on the internet without encountering the endless coverage devoted to anna nicole smith britney spears or paris hilton-to name a few.
enough is enough. too much attention has been given to these and others who have made terrible decisions about there lives and are being rewarded for it by endless coverage. who cares? i'm sorry about mis smith's demise. but it happens. who was she a over paid playboy bunny with no talent and a questionable character. did she cure cancer or some other dreadful disease? no. theres to much misplaced idolatry in this world. an example of decency and courage would be the late audrey hepburn she overcame the horrors or world war II and went on to a brilliant acting career and then became spokeswoman of the UNICEF to help starving children of africa that is newsworthy what a clear distinction. I read this in the newspaper while i was at subway i dont norm read the news cause its a waste of time to me but its a very good point dont you think. -------------------- BRING YO BEST ILL DO MY WORST

There is also too much killing and violence on tv.
I mean, just a few minutes ago I saw a guy named McCoy get his head blown off right on my screen !! What is this new channel "Barbarossa"? (kidding) Yeah Jack that is a good point. And this garbage wasn't around when I was growing up. I can't imagine growing up these days. I turn that Britney / Nicole rubbish off all the time. We definately should be focusing on people that are making a positive contribution to the planet. |

LOL I have to agree. Our own local news paper distorts stories or re-writes the news to draw attention to their paper, but media is a business too... everything is not about the facts, they write what sells. Everyone has to be the first to report it... often without facts, confidential informants..LOL (their imagination). I agree about the whole Anna Nicole Smith issue.. what a waste of time reading that material.

You know what, we need some DICTATOTORS in government that have morals and a good set of balls.
Someone to make rules to limit our "freedom" and the freedom of Companies and the Government itself. We are all spoilt beyond imagination. The world has gone to hell in a handbasket. When criminals who truely are guilty are set free and those who are the victims get punished in one way or another. Major Companies that get away with murder, poluting the planet by producing some rediculous contraption that is advertised on the Homeshopping Network aimed for sale at the lazy, fat, dumb F^%*ing peolpe who make up the majority of our population. When we don't find blame in ourselves anymore for anything that we do but use excuses to make us feel better about ourselves. ie. fat people who don't blame their eating habits or there lack of exercise but instead blame it on genetics ( I'm fat cause it is in my genes and there is nothing I can do about it so i'll just keep eating alot and do absolutely nothing ). People make me sick and Societies’ attitude towards life and each other is disgusting to watch. People suffer from "Sociological Sensationalism Disorder" where every mundane thing that happens around them can be considered as "entertainment" or"newsworthy". I could publish a book about all the things in this world that pisses me off that would be as thick as a the Concise Oxford Dictionary, but right now I'm too busy bitching about everything. --------------------  |

And after a lengthy absence, today I came here almost directly not knowing why, then zooming in on this topic.... and then I actually find you've made mention of me. It gives me the heeby jeebiz  aaargh....those voices in my head---telling me--- to ---- write --- a big---- hefty---- check---- made---out--- to--- 6pak.....cannot resist!!!!!! I hope all is going well for you lately 6pak- I miss your hieroglyphic icon posts! This is an interesting topic. Even though I'm north of the border I do like to indulge in the American news media- particularly msnbc. I found the Anna nicole episode pretty nauseatingly overplayed. Especially the comicly overtoned drama with the nutty judge overseeing what would be of anna-n's remains for days on end. The thing is there was so many other world news events going on that were being pre-empted every 15 minutes by the silly updates on anna's post death saga. Don't tell me about the garbage on TV and papers. On the subway everyday that i go to school i get free papers, and all this trash, indeed who cares, she took 18 perscription medicines at once? Its either one of 2 things. To draw our attention away from the disasterous situation in Iraq & Afganistan or Aliens preping for their imminent invasion are confusing and brainwashing us so as their victory will be an easy one... ... wait I figured it out, its not Aliens invading after all, It's Canada! No one know's what's going on in Canada, even Candian's don't know! Who's the PM in Canada? Nobody knows!!! They r sending us mixed and subliminal messages so as to make us more conserned with ann nicole rather than the curiously large number of Canadian tanks having "preactice" manouvers at the border. Soon the 200 Divisions of the Royal Canadian army will smash their way into The USA and take over Washington DC and force their bizzare and lunatic ways upon us!
