i have a mx518 (not wireless) i usually play with the speed all the way up . my son about four days ago was playing with it and got syrup all over the bottom. i tried to clean it but its seems to be skipping across the mouse pad and its like looking at a strobe light. anyone have any ideas as to what to clean it with ? its not only effecting my play but giving me headaches
if i have to buy a new one , can someone recomend an awesome one under a 100 bucks ? -------------------- ![]() |

Your best bed would be to pull it apart piece by piece and find where it's messed up. Soapy water should do the trick to get it clean.
As for new mice: I'm currently looking at that new Micro$oft Habu. It's powered by the Razer copperhead engine but it feels nicer in the hand than the copperhead. You could probably pick one up down there for $50-$60 -------------------- ![]() |

O-Boy...You say your son put pancake syrup on the bottom of your mouse...LOL...I'm sorry ... Un Dead try this...Get a soft rag and put WD-40 on it and see if it cuts the sticky stuff...WD-40 works very well on cutting through the adhesives of old stickers like bumper stickers you know what I mean,It will remove the adhesive's,sticky stuff like sugar should come right off..Good luck man...lol...and tell your son to stick with playing with playdoe my friend.Just as long as he does not stick it in your CD drive.

When my mouse gets draggy, after I clean off it's feet, I then rub it across some wax paper. Makes that puppy fly around on the mousepad. I also rub my mousepad with wax paper. Hope that helps.

Hey there, sorry about your trouble. My mouse's left button is dying...too much trigger fire...lol. I've been looking for a while though and if your getting a new one, go for Logitech. If your going to get a wireless one and going to be using if for gaming and web surfing, get the new Logitech MX Revolution, really slick and great features and comfortable to use. Also for wireless, I've got the MX-1000 and I love it, great mouse and fast responce. If your looking for a wired mouse, get the Logitech G5. It's got 2,000 DPI resolution and you can adjust the weight and ballance of the mouse up to somthing like 38 grams. I've played with one and it just screams, great mouse. The Revolution will set you back 40-50 on ebay for new. The MX-1000 is 70 new at Best Buy and the G5 is 20-40 on ebay and about the same at Best Buy. Hope this helps.

If you are gong wireless I use the G7 and it's sweet. fits the hand great. You can adjust sensitivity on the fly which would be great for going from a tank to being on foot. Only complaint I have is I'd LOVE I mean LOVE to have one more button. I got mine with a rebate ended up being like $40 which is way cheap for it. Keep an eye out and you might find a deal as well.

Yes, wax paper. I thought it up because that's what I use when my clothes iron gets draggy.
Lay a sheet of wax paper down on a nice, smooth, solid surface, like the kitchen counters. Then run your mouse around on it. If you keep your mousepad handy, you can test to see if you've got it slick enough. For the mousepad, I just wipe around on my mousepad, (BTW it's a hard Func mouse pad, not a cloth one). It kinda feels like if you added teflon mousefeet, but it's FREE!!!! I keep a piece of wax paper with my computer for refreshing the slickness any old time. -------------------- [img][/img]

I like the wax paper idea.
I had a problem with an earlier mouse that the feet became a bit sticky if you will. I used standard Scotch tape and put it across the feet. The mouse absolutely flew around the pad for a good 3 months before I had to replace the tape again. I mean it was faster than the mouse was originally! This post has been edited by Cpt.
