Discovery channel had a program where experts ranked top 10 tanks during history. It was based on fear factor, armour, mobility, fire power and mass production. And tanks which not had been in combat didn't make it to the list (Leo 2, T-90, Leclerc).
Check the link here. http://military.discovery.com/convergence/.../slideshow.html So which tank won? Maybe Rommel can give you the answer. -------------------- ![]() Members Of Barbarossa ![]() |

Kinda funny that the German panther tank was not even on the list. I bet if germany would have had the resources like russia did, and they would have kicked out 50000 panther tanks. The war on the east front would have been a lot different. I really dont understand how they can say the t-34 is #1 when toe to toe fighting against either a tiger or a panther they would have gotten torn up. I do understand that they were able to make mass amounts of these also the americans with the sherman, But this is suppose to be the top 10 tanks not how many you can dish out.

T-34 was a good tank all around, good armour, good gun, good speed and something like 45.000 where built. So too maney tanks even for the panther or tiger to stop.
At the early stage of the war in the east germany had nothing near as good as the t-34. But I had watch a top ten tanks on a history channel that had the panther tank at number 6th, The t-34 might be old but back in the 40's and even during the korean war it was a good tank. Not that the t-34 is my fav tank, just saying. In my mind I lov the panther, which btw was design base on the t-34. Leopard 2 is one of the best tanks out there today. The "dish-out" was actually part of this ranking. That's why Challenger is so low on the list - cause there's only a handful of them out there (380 I think world wide). And thats why Sherman and T-52 made it that high to this list because of the ease of production. They got lousy scores on the other topics. But I partially agree you - It's like saying that Ferrari is a lousy car because there's so few of them Yes, you right, it was T-34 but it's a old tank.
