Hello Everyone ,I have resently been having problems with my computer.

Two nights ago my computer started to rev up .it sounded like my dvd drive was raceing at high speed out of controle.

I was like holy crap duck and cover man it scared the hell out of me!!!

Then tha computer screen went to a gray screen and it said..

"your computer is recovering form a error and windows must shut down'

it sent an error report and forwarded me to microsoft and said if this should happen again you should update your video drivers.

it happen again !!

so i downloaded the new drivers..

My old driver is date 2004 the new one is date july 17 2007.

now my question what is the proper way to remove the old and install the new.

I know i must remove the old first before installingthe new ones.no action taken on my part yet.

I just want to be sure i do this in the correct order.

Go to my computer and remove from thr highlight the ati video card or go to add remove program section?

thanks for help guys and gals, Russ

Video drivers???..it sounds more like a hardware problem..but its worth a shot.

what drivers are you talking about ...graphics card drivers as in Nvidia or ATI??

if so..then go to add/remove programs
remove the old Nvidia or ATI driver.( your computer will probably restart)

then after restart ..turn off all antivirus, spyware and adware programs.
shut down all other background programs..msn messenger ,Yahoo, what ever..
download this program.......... http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745

Run that program but ensure you understand how to use it before, its fairly simple and straight forward.( which is great cause i'm simple too laugh.gif ) This program will clean out all remnants of your old driver so theres no chance in corrupting your new install.

dl the new driver, restart chech your settings and defrag...and wallah...your off to the races
