The other topic was getting long. So let me introduce version 2.5. Where does everyone want to meet up this friday? I really enjoyed the CTF server but realize everyone else may prefer something defferent. So it's up to you guys, doesn't matter to me, as I can suck on most any server. |

I love Barb. But alas I have to pick family up from the airport friday evening, and will have house guests afterwards so I am out.
Fridays are hard days for me usually I am gathering with family for food and drink, but I will be playing when I can. |

I know if you show up there Druid you'll throw all caution to the winds and play like a mad berserker ending up with your teammates cowardly following you in your path of destruction to the flag.  -------------------- |

I played a bit. Just have a hard time getting into playing the big ass maps. Too many snipers camped out. If the snipers were gone or they played some of the traditional maps it might suit me better. As it is I find myself running for 5 mins to find someone shoot them and their buddy and some sniper from 5 miles off kills me. So I run for 5 mins again...... Just seems like the maps do not promote interaction between infantry very much. I have to have something going on all the time or I /quit and find somewhere else to play.

sorry for the no show, I ended up taking the kiddies to the circus.
The circus trip was suppose to be Saturday afternoon but I was scheduled to work at the last minute. |

The beauty of this server to me is without worring about tanks, you have to really hone and adapt your infantry skills to an alternative way of playing.... I also was crucified by snipers when I first played on the server, but I learned how to survive as best as is possible on its large rural maps; You need to- 1] zig zag at spawn 2]Don't dally at spawn 3]Use smoke if u see sniper activity 4]Dart from cover to cover sprinting 5]Spawn as a sniper to take out snipers when you know they're lurking near the spawn. Interaction between infantry is there -when the tdm mentality is thrown out the window by team-mates ; this is the case when two or three full jeeps coordinate a rush together. The team also needs to know they must have various roles as team or they'll get destroyed... offence, defence, jeep rushers, snipers, sniper clearance teams, choke point guards. It's all about adapting to the 'challenges'. As a sniper I got a good tally last night, but I suffered about 5 jeep runover deaths in the one round you were there Geno. Honestly, you should try 5 or 6 maps and then judge it. After you + shred and mustang left there were some great battles -including sicily, non-stop close quarter mayhem. Anyway I hope you try again- it's really fun if you take the extra precautions to avoid getting caught in the open -too often. I enjoy sniping, I don't see being near the threat in COD:UO as in many other games because the sniper rifle is underpowered.
Plus their is realistic sway built in. |

I liked that Kharkov map. I wasn't a fan of the valley because it is big. But I found a neat way to drive a jeep up to the flag. I actually stole the flag once.
I would definately like to do that on Sicily. Thats sounds great. Something funny happened. I saw a full jeep down below me driving. So I started pimping rounds. Figured I'd hit at least one. I took out the driver and the jeep stopped dead and the rest got picked off. lol. -------------------- BLAM! Clan - Often inebriated, Rarely incarcerated |
