Is this where we are heading with spread the wealth.
They say that the congress and Senate will do this under the guise of we can fix medicare and the health care problems in this country by doing this. The first artical says this will be a reality. http://www.carolinajournal.com/articles/di...ry.html?id=5081 the next says its hogwash. http://emac.blogs.foxbusiness.com/2008/10/...t-to-tax-401ks/ "T.M." -------------------- ![]() |

Interesting reading material TM, thanks.
I'd want to hear what the dems intents are on such a proposal though. I'm far from being one of the mighty economy experts here, but is there something in that idea we're missing, and that is being misrepresented by the expressed fears? I had a similar retirement fund thingy going up here a decade ago. For emergency reasons I pulled out what I had in there. It was fortunate - the way the economy is now that investment would've been a huge loss today. Is that what the Dems are thinking too? They are perhaps of the opinion that a safeguard to avoid retirement investments don't get totally fried in an economic maltdown by taking measures to distribute a portion of those investments into a more 'solid' funding out of a volatile. erratic, liquid investment stash. ie, plugging the gaps so that no leaking of one's retirement does not turn into a flood during an economic meltdown..... I'm just wondering with a non-expert opinion -> to borrow Willian Hung's line after his American Idol debut- " I have no economy training'. I find the McCain mantra 'spreading the wealth' used wildly in the last election race weeks very interesting. Particularly when Palin used it. The media gave her a huge free pass by not bringing to attention how as Governor for Alaska she has no problem with the socialist idea of taking from the profits of oil companies in her state and redistributing that wealth amongst each Alaskan citizens to the tune of thousands of dollars EACH! Alaskan 'spread-the-wealth' Socialism employed like nowhere else in the USA and the majority of McCain elements took it upon themselves to cry about Obama being a marxist in waiting based on his discussion with Joe the Tax-evader in which he said he wants people to succeeed! - individual financial success of citizens is not a goal for communists last time I checked.... Palin herself said of her wealth distribution that she wants her Alaskans to 'share in the wealth' .... the media never investigated her hypocritical angle -free pass. -------------------- ![]() ![]() |
