Canada's Sweeney Todd is the glam-like outfit that gave rise to the peculiar pop skills of electric dreamer Nick Gilder, a towering magical imp, and professional Bryan Adams (Lead singer of Sweeney Todd). Born in London, raised in Vancouver Canada, Gilder joined Rasputin with high school friend and guitarist Jim McCulloch. The band evolved into Sweeney Todd, an obviously theatrical para-pomp 10cc-type-unit that quickly ensnared a local following. Producer Martin Shaer caught the act at a high school gymnasium and soon London Records signed and released Sweeney Todd in '75. Thanks to the delectable groupie-ode "Roxy Roller," written by Gilder and McCulloch, Sweeney Todd quickly ruled the Great White North. Chrysalis Records wooed Gilder and McCulloch to Los Angeles and the duo bolted, leaving Sweeney Todd without a creative impetus. Clark Perry took over the lead role and the band recorded a different rendering of 'Roxy Roller" before Perry was replaced by a sixteen-year-old Bryan Guy Adams who had pestered Shaer into an audition. Adams sang on yet another "Roxy Roller" and accepted a Juno on behalf of the Gilder version. This is the original hit, Sweeney Todd's Version.
" Meanwhile, Adams fell out of favor with Sweeney Todd, and split to return to high school. A year later in '78, Adams happened upon his soon-to-be songwriting partner, Prism's Jim Vallance, in a music store and later Adams reached solo superstar status in the mid 80's. Sweeney Todd labored on with new manager Ron Wright until '78. Gilder reformed the band in the late 90's. Artist: Sweeney Todd - Song: Roxy Roller - Year: 1976 - Album: Roxy Roller |

Above is the original recording of Lady. This was remastered on cd stero. When the song was put to cd the version was redone and different than the original. I believe the original is much better. This is the old version untouched.

Many do not realise they have a free music link right on there computer. When you obtain a Internet provider, they have what is called a news server link in your email. But only if you decide to hook into it. Your provider provides you with the link. News servers provide 100's to 1000's of links to all kinds of information. On these links, are mp3 music threads all broken down to style, year etc. Then we have Napster, Kazaa, Limewire etc, all provideing for the most part free music to what ever you want. Technically it is not legal, but when posted for non-profit you do not run into problems. Although Audio Galaxy was shut down for distribution, other threads have been running for years. The music industry will never likely control or regulate music shared over the internet. Small doses like this make no differance.
