failed Pak files Options

For all those who have been going crazy with missionary finding failed Pak files and not being able to run in the game because of it ,I have a little news. I did the SP2 update on my windows XP and started to have the problem. I came here looking for help and noticed serveral others having same problem. I tried all the normal fixes for this kind of problem and none of them worked-reinstalled all the game and associated files-latest version of misionary etc. Found out after a dozen different tries and ways that if i shut my anti virus programs down the problem went away. It wasnt a problem before-just after the XP update. Before i could tell the program to not pay attention to it and it would run fine-but after the update something else kicked into gear and was messing it up. hope this helps.
