The soft-spoken Queens chaplain ignited an uproar when he said a conspiracy may have been behind the World Trade Center attacks that killed more than 2,700 people, among them 343 FDNY members.

"I, as an individual, don't know who did the attacks," Habib, 30, told Newsday in yesterday's editions. "I don't believe it was 19 ... hijackers who did those attacks."

"It takes two or three weeks to demolish a building like that. But it was pulled down in a couple of hours," he said. "Was it 19 hijackers who brought it down or was it a conspiracy?"

The theory, popular in some Islamic circles, infuriated the FDNY's rank and file.

"It is an embarrassment to every New York City firefighter and painful to the families of the 343 we lost on 9/11 that this fiasco took place," Uniformed Firefighters Association President Stephen Cassidy said.

Notice, he is just a chaplain but puts forth the idea that is "popular in some Islamic circles" that it takes two or three weeks to demolish a building like that and 19 Arab hijackers couldn't have done it.
Needless to say, the professionals who know the fire business, ie firefighters, were outraged by his comments. Don't you think if the comments held even an inkling of truth the FDNY would be rioting because they lost 343 of thier own in what must be an American conspiracy?
I'm glad the news showed everyone that their are plenty of whackos out there who you may think is a normal, intlligent person, but can still believe total BS.

question 1: why is anyone that questions the government a nutjob?
question 2: why is everyone so offended? now this is something to think about, because even if it's NOT true there is NO REASON to get all defensive, and here's why: say your best friend gets murdered, and the FBI says "alright, we have our suspect, we're sending out a nationwide manhunt"... and they do... then a few weeks later some guy says, "sir, i don't believe that that was the man who killed your friend, there is evidence that points to this guy being the murderer instead." would that "offend" you, or "open up wounds"? wouldn't you WANT to know who really killed your best friend?
i hate how they try to get the message across that anyone who questions is anti-american... and anyone who doesn't like the current political leaders is anti-american or unpatriotic, when in reality it's the complete opposite. our country was FOUNDED on the idea of being able to speak your voice in disent, and protest/assemply, so the person that doesn't like our president and hates war can still be as patriotic as the guy that loves the president and loves war... being patriotic has NOTHING to do with liking your president or liking a war... it has to do with liking your country, there's a difference.

Well the problem is that this fucking moron is using a subject that is very sensitive for a lot of people to propel his personal hysteria and insanity. It is especially difficult for people who knew or were close to victims of the tragedy to read this crap. Also the subject mattter, that a standing American President would kill fellow Americans for some clandestine plan to take over the world or enslave US citizens sounds like it was written by Marvel or DC comics. It's lame and totally inapporpriate. I would be the first one to say that I think Bush isn't a very good president, though I support his resolve against terrorism no matter how flawed the execution of it may be, but for his opponents to use a tragedy of the nature(9/11) as a platform for their skewed and hackneyed views makes me sick. STFU asshole and keep it to yourself.

The reason why people got upset is because the firefighters died regardless of what caused the fire, but when you get people who are clearly clueless spouting claims of a political conspiracy, that cheapens the deaths of the firemen and turns them into tools of a political agenda.
The man couldn't keep his job as chaplin because he would be unable to help anyone who went to him. "I'm still having nightmares about my buddy dieing in 9/11". "I'll tell you what the really scary thing is! He didn't have to die! It was set up to go down and they let all those people die for a political goal! 1. His son is a chef
2. His son has a history of violence
3. His son left the restaurant "very upset" and took his knives with him, something he never does
4. OJ's sons hands are smaller than OJ's, that's why OJ wanted to try on the gloves. They knew the gloves wouldn't fit.
I think OJ cut himself and spilled blood in his truck cuz he would rather go to jail then see his son go, and also figured he had a better chance of getting off.

TE, your arguement is flawed because the "prior knowledge" they alledge refers to intelligence that there could be an attack. I haven't heard any serious allegations from a credible source that the 9/11 attacks were gov't sponsored. To imagine that a conspiracy that widespread would have never been leaked to the press for money or conscience is impossible to believe.
