The sherman had inferior armor, accuracy and firepower. It did have very good speed, higher numbers, and air support. The germans had superior weapons and equipment in just about every category. The deciding factor was that they were lead by an insane fool that knew very little about warfare. If rommels hands werent tied by hitler, he would have thrown the allies back into the sea at normandy. The russia offesive was a disaster. And he spiraled downhill from there.
I think the grease gun was designed off of the tommy. It was a cheaper, lighter, slightly altered version of the tommy that could be mass produced. --------------------  |
