Saddam Sentenced to death Options

it was decided today that saddam was yes in fact guilty and he was sentenced to death by hanging along with three other people.

I'm torn on this decision. Yes, there will always be the part of me that wants this guy dead and I'm jumping around inside screaming "yeah, you're going to hang mothaf***er!" There's also another part of me thinking that all the Iraqis and Islamic extremists will use this sentence and death as a way to martyrise him. Creating a martyr can work two sides, could be a good thing ie: Martin Luther King or it could be a bad thing ie: Che. Well, Che isn't that bad... mainly cause all the kids wearing the revolution shirt with his image don't know who the hell he really is or what he stood for. I love asking people that wear Che shirts how they feel about Castro... usually have hilarious responses. Anyway, back to the subject. I think I'd rather see Saddam rot in prison like Charles Manson to the point that he's an emaciated little guy that will speak out against terrorism, etc than see him become a martyr. Plus, we have to make sure that this is all done by Iraqi people... no Allied forces involved or we get blamed for it. There is still a lot of anti-US sentiment over Che's death even though we weren't involved in that at all.

Hanging or sitting in prison the rest of his life, either way he dies... so I guess it's win-win.
