CTF/HQ Server, Broadsword! Options

Lets hook up broadsword on the ctf/hq server 7/24 for a bit to see if it catches. Maybe just over the holidays? Oh cmon, no one is ever in the CTF/HQ server! We can go back to the old rotation anytime.

this happens to be my favorite map lately and i think alot of people will show up.for all you barb guys-this is how barb started,i still have the teaser trailer from when they were about to release it.1 map 1 game style.

About Smolensk, I remember EXACTLY how Smolensk failed. Because there was a pak behind German's spawn Ruskies could get one and kill Germans as they spawned. A good 12v12 game was absolutely ruined when someone got on that pak and spawnkilled us German's for 2 straight minutes while we could not even as much as take one single step, no exageration, no lie. I came in and posted something like "The Smolensk map can go to hell". Anyway, a lot of other people I think felt the same way, as I NEVER saw anyone in the map again for BA. People were complaining about that problem before my particular game, but I think that game turned off the last group of players who hadn't expereinced an absolutely hopeless spawn rape situation. I mean it. You didn't have time to do ANYTHING, the shooter had the timing so perfect.



Anyway, IMO. that's what killed Smolensk. They tried the domination mode after that (Which I actually liked) because the server instantly turned into a ghost town. That spawn killing pak was a fatal flaw.



However, Smolensk was better CTF and Conquest anyway. I don't think it was ever a great BA map. It's still out there as a CTF, and is fun.

Changing topics, lets do something I think we can ALL agree on...change the Vent "cassino" channel to say "Broadsword". I think this should be our last, best shot at creating a server people go to. Otherwise, there's no point supporting an empty server.
