My cousin Doug just got released from the Devil Rays last a couple of weeks ago. He had a nice run trying to break into the majors the last couple of years. His major league career is likely over, but he made $355,000 being and only pitched a dozen games. The salaries are out of control. In just 10 years from now some stud player will stick a pinky in the corner of his mouth a say: "Their paying me 1 Biiiilllllliiiioooon Dollars". -------------------- |

It's never over in baseball. I friend of mine had a brother pitch in the minors for the Twins forever. Then he got brought up, for about a minute. Then he was back down. Then they got crazy and made him a pitching scout. OK, so he isn't pitching anymore, but they know he's got something... So they use him as a scout for a few years... Then he was a pitching coach in the minors for the Twins. He's got a gift...
Now, He is the pitching coach (I think, I didn't ask where the Rangers/Twins tickets came from, but I think he is the pitching coach) for the twins. They were good seats, so I think he is pretty connected, lol. -------------------- |
