Junkie makes some excellent recommendations here.

If you are not prepared to run Vista and immerse yourself in DX10 then a video card decision at this time is pretty straight forward.

I, like you, would wait to see how Vista comes around and what video cards will be fully supporting DX10 in a few months or even a year or two and what improvements they will make in those areas.

I would not recommend ATI products and if you would care to know why, I will be happy to include those reasons in a pm.

As far as a power supply is concerned, DO NOT try to save a nickle in this area as it will cost you more down the road in frustration and possibly damaged components.

Do yourself a favor and really research this decision. Just because a power supply touts "600 watts" (for example) doesn't mean it is delivering sufficient, clean power across the board. You should analyze each components power requirements and then choose a power supply that will deliver the correct power ratings for worry-free computing.

Here is a link to Antec's Power Supply Calculator. You use the dropdown boxes to fill in the equipment you will be using in your build and then it will calculate that information to then tell you what your power requirements will be and the type of PSU you will need.

Good luck and hope you end up with a kick ass machine!!
