Reasons why you might be addicted, TO VIDEO GAMING Options

1. People know you by your Screen Name and not your real one .

2. You ask your doctor how many lives you have left .

3. When your girlfriend /wife says "its either me or the videogame" and you say "We`ll talk about it after this level / map"

4. You are part of a gaming community.

5. You have never been on a sports team ,yet you are a master at Footbal ,Baseball ,Hockey and Golf.

6. You have skipped many meals to get to the next level.

7. The only letters you know ,on a keyboard ,that work are W,S,A,D and sometimes SPACE .

8. none of your friends get confused.

9. You say LOL instead of really laughing .

10. You name your kids after Mario and Sonic.

11. You played so much time playing Guitar Hero ,you have have taught yourself how to play a real guitar ,and now you have started your own band.

12. You camp out at the store the night before any new games come out.

13. You can be a HERO instead of a losser.

14. The sun raising ,is your cue thats its really time to go to bed .

15. You have more stories about videogames then you own life.



There are more to list ,but as I`m writing this list ,I`m checking the ones of that apply to me ,and its quite scarry.

I found the CAGE assessment designed to help people determine if they have a drinking problem to be quite interesting when applied to gaming:

C = have you ever tried to cut back on your gaming?

A = do you get annoyed when others question you about your gaming?

G = do you ever feel guilty about the amount of your gaming?

E = do you ever need an eye opener to get you started for the day?

If the answer to two or more of these questions is "Yes," then you may have a problem with gaming...

uh..ohhhh....what happens if you answer yes to all 4. ..i did have to cut back on my gaming actually, i get up for work at 5:00am and i "try" not to game Mon-thursday nights after work. The guys at work bug me about being a gamer..and it does tend to get on my nerves..feel guilty?? a bit..i guess i could be out doing something else but for the 39.95 investment i made into my cod and Uo disks i have hundreds of hours of entertainment and met a lot of amazing people from all over the world...and regarding the eye opener..same reason as #1..i get up at 5:00am for work and it kills me if i am not in my bed by 9:30 pm and lights out by ten. i work 12 hour days 5 days a week during busy season..
