I also got odd results from vajoe. The question that comes to me is, is that because the program is flawed? I don't have a complete understanding of where everyone is on the issues? I'm biased by personal opinions that have little to do with where a candidate stands on issues? Or I was too drunk when I took it dribble.gif

I always try to be open minded about candidates and try to focus on where they stand on issues instead of falling in to the old Donkey/Elephant trap so I thought that both sites were illuminating for me.

I'm not American but I took it for fun. IMO, vajoe should be more accurate because it allows you to weigh the importance of your answer. For example, what if you really don't care what the background of the politician is? For example, does anyone really think it is more important that a candidate be, say, from the Senate than from the House of Reps without having any particular candidate in mind? So I think being able to put a "low" or "high" priority on an answer would allow you to sucessfully filter out questions that mean little to you.

Anyway, the poll discovers which candidates STATED views match your own. Of course, it would not reflect whether you trust them to see those views through, whether you think they truely believe in them or are oppotunist, etc. But then again, it might just be surprising to some of you that candidate X actually has a lot of similarily stated views. I think they are neat and in Canada, where an election is coming soon, it'd be fun if we got something similar for our candidates.

BTW, I did both and it picked the same candidate for both for my top one. So that indicated both are on the same track.
