I thought I might make a post about my first impressions of COD4 multiplayer. I just got the game and a PC that could run it (Thanks Overheated!!) and played online for about 1-1.5 hours last night. As a bit of background I would like to state that although I have COD2 I never really got into it. I would also like to state that I took absolutely NO time to learn the controls.

First of all it's VERY hard (at least for me) to tell who your teammates are. I think this will probably get better as I get better but I got killed a LOT because I didn't realize the other person was the enemy. On the flip side, I must have TK'd Slayer a half dozen times and for that I offer my sincere apologies.

Second, does anyone know if I can send my copy of the game to Ted Turner and have him colorize it? The level of detail and realism is astonishing except for the colors. Surely even in bombed out cities there is something colorful (other than the red in my vision when I'm hurt). If they can colorize "It's a Wonderful Life", they should be able to colorize COD4.

Third, the environment is really good, from the debris blowing in the wind, to the rain, to the flies buzzing around the dumpster, COD4 has made all of this very realistic

Lastly, the perks. They are HUGE, especially when playing against Noobs like me. Overheated killed me a LOT of times with his grenade launcher and then when I finally kill him he drops the grenade and I die anyway. This is something smart players probably will pick up very quickly, but I hope that's not the case because I've shown no ability to stop it and don't like the implications.

Anywway, that's my $.03 (reflecting the weakining of the US dollar)... Thoughts???

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
