I know there are some private slots, are the 18 additional slots going to be enough? Are some of the maps going to be too big for two teams of nine? Just to fill my curiosity, why was the slot number changed? Some of the non {MOB} frequent fliers have been asking why. What kind of information can I bring back to them?

Sorry Elroy, haven't had my computer on the past couple of days, had stuff going on here at home for the holiday.

Mike and I have been working a lot on all of the servers lately, to get the best bang for the buck out of the server box and keep as many clan members happy as possible. Part of this is that we realized that not many clan members are playing the coduo modern weapons servers since COD4 came out.

Especially with Modern Weapons TDM, there have never been many clan members on that server. And when we took a closer look, we realized that there are no clan members who donate money to the clan who play on that server anymore. So, um, the real question to the clan is why keep it at all? But, since I created that server, it's tough for me to think about shutting it down completely. Reducing the slot count was the only real alternative then. And having 6 private slots is a clan-standard, we are a large clan, so each {MOB} server has 6 private slots. Who knows, maybe some players will decided they want to join the clan just to get the private slots.

Anyway, to explain further, the mods on the coduo modern weapons servers eat up a lot of bandwidth on the server box because the mods create a lot more information for the processor to keep up with. We're seeing that COD4 is doing likewise, takes a lot more processor resources to keep multiple fully-populated servers running smoothly.

Sorry for my short snippy answer to your question. Didn't have much time to respond at the time and was also working on another problem. I'm always working on so many problems and issues here in the clan, and sort of catch it from all sides constantly, to where sometimes, I don't have time to write full explanations of stuff. Wish I had more time to actually play in these servers, lol.

Hope this helps explain the reasoning a bit better.

Thank you for taking the time to more fully explain the decision. I have always appreciated MOB's efforts, and especially yours, as I have been playing on the TDM server for a while.

I can certainly appreciate the 'business' decisions necessary in running multiple servers, just see some of your other COD servers much less populated overall.

Regardless, I wish MOB well as they move on to COD 4.
