thought id start a thread on movies , i watch alot of them and wonder what other people think. recently i saw a movie that i thought was awesome ,not just because it was a true story but i think because i remember turning on the tv and watched a documentary right after it happend.

i watched INTO THE WILD ,in this movie a very well to do,intelligent young kid who just graduted college with all As decides to completely drop out of society, cuts up his ss card ,license etc.. and walks the earth. i have to say ,coming from a guy who traveled the us by car 3 times surfing snow boarding and rock climbing,it really makes me think of another side of life altogether, just wondering if any one has seen it and your opinions on the movie. this was sean penns second film as director and as the last,i thought this film to be outstanding!

One of the greatest. No doubt about it. The depth charge attack by the British detroyer was one of the most intense moments ever in a war film.

This brings up another whole topic. We have debated the best war films but what about the best battle scenes in a movie.

I'll take a shot at it first:
1st) Saving Private Ryan: Normandy Beach Invasion scene
2nd) LOTR: Battle at Helms Deep
3rd) Star Wars: Attack on the Death Star
Those are moments I will never forget.
There's got to be many more. Let's hear'em.
