Sid's CIV.II on sale for $10 at stores.... lol I'll pick it up for my methinx since it fits my no-frills budget and no-frills 'old' pc.

No, haven't bought it yet. I was just giving advice based on the last two versions I played. Oddly, one wasn't made by Sid and had some interesting things going for it, but ultimately sid's version won me over.
I was just assuming things would be fairly similar to previous versions. Now that you mention this other stuff it becomes even more enticing!! --------------------   |
