I'm in the whatever will be will be train of thought... not in a fatalistic way, but more of human nature at war with itself seeing who'll prevail in the end - free will [and its flaws] or the fundamentalist idea.

Iran's got some serious high tech geeks over there- its only a matter of time before they actually are in the position of having working nukes. I'm sure N.Korea will be at that point too in the future.... try as we might to stop it.

My belief in the last year about the neocon assault into Iraq is in the camp that it wasn't connived over false claims of WMD to get back at Sadam nor for oil; I'm in the camp that believe the neocons have/had a geo-strategy in mind with that grand plot-> they wanted to put a tighter noose on Iran, by 'acquiring' Iraq as what they'd envisioned would be a perfect puppet state -conveniently on Syria and Iran's doorstep -ready to break in their doors when the time was right.

As for world doomsday speculations:
In my mind, if we humans can't figure out that billions of us need to get off our one day to-be-dead as dust planet- and out of our Sun extinguished solar system, we're doomed to total existence erasure.

As for end of world predictions; these fears go on allllll the time don't they?- especially with cults.... In particular every several centuries something is supposed to surely be the end of the world regarding unique calendar dates. Geezus, lol the evangelical leaders had a field day in the 80s playing on the fears of nuclear holocaust scenarios and saying that was surely the time the Coming would occur..... More bizarre that Prez.Reagan's in his anti-commie over-zealousness would be the one to end the piping hot Cold War crisis and kill end of world fears at that time.
I'm not trying be a heretic/heathen, but didn't Jesus himself say that the end of the world would come in his generation...... 2000 years ago.

I think we need to all as a race get over our fears and hangups of each others cultures and pre-conceived notions in order to start moving in the right direction.....yep, but, "not bluhdee likely!" as me n' Cross [Hamma?] would say

Ultimately are humans destined in whatever society we're in, to always be led by someone convincing us there are boogeymen on the other side of the fence that need doing away with.
