funny thing is that even if they drill today, according to the news (cnn/fox) it would have no effect for about 10 years. I dont believe that at all. maybe 3.
we have 2 choices. well 3 i guess. 1) we sell our souls for oil. 2) we develop 100+ mpg cars. 3) we bike to work. |

I don't believe that, if we changed policy and started building drilling platforms it would at least let the other countries know we are serious about energy independance. My guess is they would loosen the stranglehold they have on the supply. Whats even funnier to me is the whole windfall profits BS.... Here is a newsflash to everyone; corporations pay no taxes, they plan for the taxes they will have to pay and add it into the cost of their product it's called OVERHEAD I wish one of these idiots blabbering on about this would explain to me exactly how taxing a corporation more is going to get them to lower the product they sell. Or will it make everyone fell better having the government steal money froma private corporation for some pork barrel vote buying scheme? |
