Damnnnnn

Ok, Robert - I love to hate to say this about you,
but you did it again - another prophetic call on your part. She did very well.

Who was THIS Palin?

Steady as a rock she was.....
From the War in Iraq session on she was visibly looking to go at it no holds barred with Biden.
Kudos to Palin's prep team.
A couple of slip ups on her part on foreign policy and a couple of domestic issues but she was very poised and solid. Mission accomplished for her in my opinion.

Biden was 'Johnny on the spot' to edge out Palin utilizing the full extent of his experience. I'm not sure Hillary could've topped her. Palin even threw Biden off his game visibly at one point regarding counterattacking Biden's point about the US general in Afghanistan saying the Surge wasn't applicable there.
It looked like he got an uppercut out of nowhere as he recolied for 2 seconds and looked down thinking; 'what the hell did she just do to me!'.
One thing I was fearing was she'd blow it so badly she'd be traumatized by it all her life. I think she can now go back to her room and woot woot all night and do victory somersaults on her bed - she can be proud she didn't fail those who counted on her tonight.

I thought it was funny, the one time he directly attacked her he was wrong.
When she was discussing her role as VP, Biden tried to correct here saying
"The role of VP is to support the president, only in the case of a tie does the VP preside over the senate"
That's actually wrong, it says
"The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided."
So she was right when she refered to the VP as president of the senate. The VP was meant to serve much the same function as the Speaker does for the House. That's why the line of succession goes, President, VP - President of the Senate, Speaker of the House.
I don't think Palin is well enough informed to come up with that, I just thought it was funny that Biden, a 30 year senator wouldn't know the history of the Senate.
Even worse, he said Article 1 lays out the responsibilities of the executive branch. He was wrong on that as too because the executive branch is under Article 2.
People should remember, there was a big fuss made out about this early in the Bush presidency because Cherey said the role of VP was legislative in nature. Everyone freaked, attacking him claiming it was some kind of power grab. Then the story faded away when everyone found out he was right.

Obama has raised $300 million, so I think he can afford to give Biden a nice leather bound copy of the US constitution. After 30 years as a senator, it's time he read it.

This was the most watched VP debate in history, even beating out many of the Presidential debates.

My favorite part was when she reminded Biden that he previously said he would be proud to run on the same ticket as McCain, now suddenly he tells a completely different story.

To HF.
If McCain did develop a new case of skin cancer, localized melanoma is normally treated as outpatient surgery. They slice of the skin, then an electrode is used to burn the tissue to stop bleeding an kill any cancer cells which may still be present. At least that's what was done with the wifey both times. ( to much sun bathing when she was young )

Wow-sorry to hear about the wife Robert-its sad to hear that- of course I hope for her immunity from further outbreaks!
My real point is what if it goes beyond early detection. Then things become quite serious.
LATE EDIT;
I had 2 clip links here showing McCain's history with skin cancer but I deleted them - not appropriate me lecturing you on that I think.

Actually why wouldn't Biden now sing a different tune about McCain - everyone says the current McCain is not the person they knew as more likeable before the latest months of this campaign. He has no objections to sleazy campaign adds. He makes false claims constantly ; ie, resolving the recent House bailout vote / led the Surge [ implying he was the orchestrator of the Surge's 'success']. McCain also has overdone his stunts of lying about Obama's policies. Cheapshot-Bush-like tactics in calling Obama out as unpatriotic, a coward/surrenderer/wanting to be Prez at any cost wins him no medals of merit either. He's also turned on a dime regarding his policies; in his desperation to appeal to the hard core conservatives who frown upon him, he's turned his back on several of his former stances- the trump of it all is his only reason in taking on Palin is to appeal to right-wingers and try and steal the disenfranchised Hillary/female vote without regard to the fact Palin is ONLY suitable as an efficient Governor.

You hit the nail on the head regarding Palin/ not well-informed.
I granted you that she did perform well in the debate by remaining poised and unshakeable before the magnitude of Joe Biden. But other than that she is massively uninformed. She has skewered what she believes the role of a VP is into what she would like it to be -She apparently wants to be a mini-me president like Cheney! Sweet geezus -she's revealing a frightening Neocon streak in her - is she also content with the fact that being as ignorant as she is on details she MUST/SHOULD/NEEDS to know about as a VP that if she has to fill in for Prez, the Neocon imps will be there to guide -like they did with Bush.

Now there's more news the McCain campaign intends to totally shield Palin from the media. What's that BS about? She wants to be VP and a potential world leader but the voters can not see how she holds up to media scrutiny- MEDIA scrutiny -> not a potential nuclear war or gaza strip crisis! She's afraid of the media and whines about 'gotcha questions' - Say it ain't so Joe!
I also see shades of R umsfeld and Gonzales in her- grinning at the camera and telling bald-faced lies OR skewering the truth. As I mentioned before she said that Afghan civilian casualties caused by misguided American air-bombing attacks WAS A LIE. Here's where I believe where in one of her interviews she doesn't read 'those vast array' of newspapers. These 'mistaken' attacks are causing a huge stir between the Afghan populace/government and the Coalition forces. Can she not read the facts and histories of these regions if she's going to babble idiocy about knowing what military strategy to apply in that region.

She's a great cheerleader and can rise to the occasion where substance can be overlooked. But she's now solidifying the now common belief she's a BS artist regarding qualifications and sincerity to be a VP -maybe 2 more terms from now she can have that competence but right now she's making most Americans feel bitter that she can only function as an attack pitbull and pretty face to rally that portion of wishful thinkers in the conservative base - she has no intention of appealing to the broader spectrum of voters. Her avoiding interviews as an evasive tactic to mucking up her 'popularity joe 6 pack cutesy-winky hug ya thru the tv' image is going to end up sinking her. I thought she had more guts then that on Thursday -and even on Friday when she expressed some disbelief McCain was pulling out of Michigan.

What I see coming up..........
Watch the gloves come off regarding Palin. Everyone is going to start pounding at her -the Obama campaign will not go directly at her, but I'm betting thy'll assist in orchestrating her 'reduction' if McCain predictably goes on an all out assault on Obama as did Hillary in the middle of her race against him. McCain's imploding. Watch the screws start popping out of the bulk in the next debates when he'll be bullied by Obama to give answers of substance. 'No new taxes' sounds nice -but someone made that promise before-and ended up breaking it.
