You guys are all too busy playing COD 5 ... but if you come up for air, be sure to check out the new Life Magazine photo archives that Google is hosting. Absolutely amazing photos from WWI and WWII, as well as all the other seminal events in our recent history.

Russ, you'll certainly be interested in some of these!

Hamma,Very cool site indeed.

I must say though I got a little side tracked when looking into the 40''s section...my..my ..those Hawian women certainly are attractive dribble.gif ..Oh ..yes back to my planes..section wink.gif .

Hamma,I found two more binders of my grandads photo's..8/10 photos.Mostly of crashed planes gothas i think and pics of troops standing at attention in formation, and a few photos of my grandad inspecting the troops...one with a guy right hand high in the air praising Hitler during inspection...amazing photos'.

Also i have been taking photos of my dads document from WW2.So far about 80 pages of the report I have phtgraphed about 60 more to go.I plan to post them in my photobucket so you folks can read them if you wish. However i have noticed that when i transfur them to the bucket they sem to blur, but if you were to download them onto your computer andlook at them through widows you can read them perfectly with no blur.

The plane photo is dated 1918.

The other photo where Herman Ruehmkorf is receiving a medal is 1941 the others are dated 1943.

All in all i found an additional 40 to 50 more photo's most from 1918 and earlyer.

I wish to hell i could read german because all of them have a description of where and who is present.

frustrated to say the least i should ask my mom to translate before it is too late..Oh by the way she's doing great here at home.. biggrin.gif
