How does Cod 5 compare to Cod 4?

As Geno said, Cod4 Engine and shitty sound.

However I find it to be a lot more playable than COD4.

The main reason is that not every gun in the game shoots across the entire map for a single shot kill.
What is the point of so many different guns in Cod4? Why would you use a assault rifle when any machine gun with iron sights throws much more lead and can be shot accuratly completly across the biggest map for a kill?

Shooting across the map with a pistol for a 1 shot kill, in Cod4 come on that's just plain stupid.
There is no advantage for using slower weapons to improve accuracy, because they are all deadly accurate!

Everyone plays Hardcore in cod4 mainly because there are so many camping spots that shooting somone with anything less than a sniper rifle and they duck behind cover and get back to full health immediatly.
A health pak system would have helped this game tremendiously.

So in my opinion COD4 it is strictly run and gun or camp and snipe. There is no middle ground it seems.

COD5 at least got the weapons close to having some balance, Yes the bolts need tweaked, and they are not as smooth as COD2, they at least add some dimension that COD4 was missing. You can run and gun a little with the bolt.

The Machine guns in COD5 also are not as overpowering as in cod4, With a bolt I can get into a firefight at a dstance and win. That was not at all the case in COD4.

The tanks are nice, it adds a new dimension to TDM, they seem to be popular and make the teams work together to destroy tanks.

Lastly CTF is back and a hell of a lot of FUN

I guess the execution on the game is a little off and it's not as polished as COD4, but I think it plays a hell of a lot better. If they add a Base Assault expansion pack this would be a great game, because it allows for all skill sets / styles to play with various weapons.
