Hmmmm, Flashpoint looks like it has a lot of potential. Any idea on the actual release date?
I know that promo video and screen shots are often doctored beyond belief, but I saw some things in Flashpoint that were really impressive. COD5 was incredibly awkward as they attempted to simulate areas of focus. The video they have up for Flashpoint seems to indicate they are using a much more sophisticated method. The lighting effects are outstanding. This seems to further illustrate that COD is stuck with 2004-era code. I asked the question above, and then found the answer myself, it will be released sometime in the spring. Got to admit, Dean, this one seems to have everything we have been demanding from game developers. It is 134 square miles! It takes 4 1/2 hours to walk across the island in real time! I'll be anxious to learn more about how they handle multiplayer. Will it be squad-based? Will you respawn with your squad? Each MP game will 16 vs. 16. That's a lot of people on a big assed map. Not much fun if you aren't respawning with your team mates. Okay, guys, this may be the game that will push you to upgrade your rig. Better start saving $$ now. |
