What is Veterans Day?
- Lewis Smith - Veterans Day is a special day for Americans. Unlike Memorial Day when we honor those who gave their lives for our country, today is a time to salute all veterans -- both living and dead-- and their sacrifices. Today should not be a day of sadness, but a time of pride and reflection on what veterans have accomplished and the freedoms they have protected.  -------------------- |

Very fine words Old man. A good buddy of mine (my old Tae-Kwon-Do) instructor is still suffering from gernade fragments from the Korean war, which are catching up in old age, and to add to it, after he returned his only wife and son died in a car accident in the car in front of him while travelling in bad weather. He can't even look at a war film these days. 26,791 Canadians fought there. Korean War |
